It is a beautiful gate and the only wood freestanding gate we could find with a door that would stand straight across an opening. Others have mentioned the latch on it. The latch design could be a lot stronger. So far it is working for my smaller dogs, but for the high price they should engineer a better latch...

We have a new (hyper) dog, and two cats, one older. This is the perfect way to give everyone their own space, while still allowing us to pass through. It is way more attractive than what we had there before, and the dog has not tried to go under or around.

Functional & looks nice
This is our second time buying this gate as we needed it for another room. I like how nice it looks plus the functionality of the open/close door makes it a dream

Well Made Product
We have two other gates from this company and they are very well made and attractive. Certainly cheaper options out there but in the case you get what you pay for

Protects my LR window

My larger dog goes berserk at the front window when other dogs pass by, so much so that from outside I could see the window frame bow out as he pushed on the window. This gate has been a perfect solution, keeping both dogs completely away from the window. I am very impressed with how sturdy this product is - there's no way my dogs could knock it down. The weak point is the gate itself, with just the plastic connector, so I have bungee-corded the gate closed. I didn't like paying almost $400 for this, and think it could have been offered for less, but I a-bit-grudgingly admit that having the problem solved is well worth it. I would ask the manufacturer to use a sticker for the caution notice on the gate that doesn't leave behind such hard-to-remove glue. Frustrating on an otherwise high-quality product.
Perfect dog gate for me
I needed a sturdy dog gate that also didn’t look cheap. This gate looks quite luxurious.

Pricey but suitable

I hunted for hours across many shopping sites for a free standing dog gate that was 36" tall and strong enough to box Sheppards into their area. As you can see in the photos we already have an inside run. Needed to box them in more to give people access to the door. Pros: 1) It's the ONLY gate tall enough and strong enough to work; sturdy enough (barely), that I could find. 2) Best price found on Chewy. 3) Looks nice (but also a con). 4) Adjustable width in 2" increments - I was able to wedge it in tight. Cons: 1) Pricey - if it didn't have all these cons, it would be worth the price. I'd give this item 5 stars if it was half the price. My star rating is about Value on the dollar. 2) My dogs batted the door and opened it within 60 seconds. I solved this with some paracord, see photos. It's a problem, because now to open the gate to let dogs thru, have to untie the two paracords. It's also a weak point - when they jump/push/kick on the door, it wiggles and bends. So far they haven't broken the door off, but I imagine they might at some point. 3) Looks nice, but doesn't match my install - I wish they had color choices. 4) Taking it down is going to be a chore. Wife doesn't want it there ALL the time, only when we're going to be using the door a lot. Because of the way I have it wedged in tight, to move it, I will need to take the 4 bolts out with a screwdriver to adjust it less wide. Then, where to put it? It doesn't break down easily. I'll have to take the side bolts out too for full breakdown. Putting the side bolts in is optional in the instructions: if you put them in, it's stronger. If you leave them out, the sides swing on hinges so you can make it straight (easier for storage). It's nice that it has this option, but again: I wish I could have both strength AND breaks down easy.
