The Floodlight Cam Plus can absolutely work for second story installation! This camera is designed for outdoor use and can be mounted on walls or ceilings at various heights. Here are the key considerations for second story installation: - Mounting Options: The Floodlight Cam Plus comes with a mounting bracket and can be installed on exterior walls or under eaves on your second story - Optimal Height: While the recommended optimal height is 9 feet from the ground for best motion detection range, second story installation will still provide excellent coverage of your property - Power Requirements: Since this is the wired version, you'll need access to a 4" round weatherproof electrical box with AC wiring (100V-240V) on your second story location - Professional Installation: Given the height and electrical requirements for second story installation, it's highly recommended to use a licensed electrician for safe installation - Coverage Area: The 140° horizontal and 80° vertical field of view will provide excellent coverage from a second story vantage point, allowing you to monitor large outdoor areas below The weather-resistant design (rated for -5°F to 118°F) ensures it will perform well in outdoor conditions at any reasonable installation height.
