Questions & Answers

16 Customer Questions

Will it be a problem for me to switch from another food to this one
Answer by ChewyNov 19, 2019
We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

how long will this bag last?
Answer by ChewyMar 27, 2020
There will be approximately 4 cups of kibble per pound. The 2.5 pound bag will have close to 10 cups. An unopened bag of food will last until the expiration date stamped on the bag. Ideally, dry food and treats should be consumed within 6-8 weeks of opening the bag. Exposure to air, light, hot temperatures and humidity speeds up the rate at which foods degrade. To limit these effects, keep dry foods in their original packaging and store in a cool, dry location.

Do you need to add water to this food before serving?
Answer by ChewyOct 19, 2022
This recipe does not require water to be added before serving. Food can be served as is.

Is this small bites?
Answer by ChewyMay 10, 2022
This recipe features a unique kibble shape designed for a Yorkshire Terrier’s small muzzle and bite.

GREAT for Yorkie Puppies

Yorkies are known for having just a few problems in life: bad teeth as they age, bad hips or knees as they age, and Pancreatitis from food that has too much fat in it for them. For each of my previous Yorkies, I’ve ONLY fed prescribed Royal Canin Low Fat. It’s formulated for puppies, even. But, the woman from whom I got my current dog started her on the Royal Canin Yorkie Puppy food, and I decided to follow that regimen. My puppy was born 01.02.23, and at the writing of this review on 03.23.23, she is doing FABULOUSLY! She is über healthy. She is running circles around me in my house. She is thriving. I am pleased. I will keep her on this as long as she does well, and I intend to transition her to the adult version at one year of age as suggested. I am VERY picky at what I feed my dogs, as I don’t want a Pancreatitis attack. This has been a great choice and option, thus far, and my little Willow Grace loves it!

She loves the crunch

My 4 month old Yorkie is such a picky eater!! This is my 4th bag of dog food to try. She eats at it more than the others, so I will stick it out. She gobbled it down the first day, but after that, very slowly eating it. I still would highly recommend

Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier - seal defect

Me and my puppy are big fans of Royal Canin but unfortunately my bag of Yorkshire puppy food came with a broken seal (does not seal properly), hence making the seal not secure and his food all stale. Pretty bummed out since my puppy loves this food but now is stale! :(

Puppy food

Our pups are thriving on this puppy food. Only complaint is I wish that it came in a bigger bag.

He likes it!

Picky eater, but he likes this. Also--it's small enough that it can be swallowed with or without chewing. He's teething.

$$$$$$$$$$

Royal Canin Yorkie food is very much liked by our new Yorkie puppy. We use the kibbles as treats/training too which is good for him. The only downside we see is it has made his poops very smelly. Can't be any kinder than that.
