How Nutrition Can Help

Your veterinarian may recommend a formula that includes:

All My Cats Love This and It Works

This early support renal diet has kept my cats' kidney disease from progressing into stage 3. One has had stage 2 disease for 8 years now and his sister is in stage 1 now. Given their elderly ages I expect that without this diet over the years that he would've died from his kidney disease and that both his sisters would've progressed further in renal disease. And they like both the wet and the kibble form. We've tried all the various prescription brands. Purina's was not well liked and Hill's Science quit making their canned early support renal food. Royal Canin is good quality and the cats like it.

Very tasty

My kitty is new to this food.He likes it better than the early kidney dry food from Purina. I didn't give it 5 stars for the simple reason that sometimes he will not eat it.I believe this is due to digestive issues rather than the food. What seems to be working best.. this is a work in progress...is to give him a little dish with wet food ( with added probiotics) on one side and dry food on the other. He seems to need small meals or he gets acid reflux and feels really bad. My other cats WISH they needed this food! I hope they never do!

Not the same

My 13-year-old Kitty was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 kidney disease. My vet recommended this food and had an open bag near expiration that she gave me a sample of to try. My cat was crazy for it every time I fed it to her. So I purchased a new bag from Chewy. And she simply will not touch it. I emailed Royal Canin and of course they said nothing had changed. But I have read some other reviews that they changed the packaging and pets will not eat it anymore. Maybe the packaging is affecting the taste. It's either that or the formulation. Something has definitely changed whether they will admit it or not. To test this theory I got another bag from my vet and she ate it again.

we have a winner!

I came home with this and my cat immediately got excited and I couldn’t get the bag open fast enough for him! He ran towards his bowl and as soon as I poured the food he scarfed it down like it was the best food he’s ever eaten. I wasn’t expecting this but I’m so happy he likes his new food and it will keep him healthy so well worth the money

My 4 cats love it

This is my cats favorite Dry cat food which is great because they need this for early kidney issues that could come up because my cats are 12 and 14 years old. Thanks Royal Canin and thanks Chewy! They eat the dry food to supplement the Royal Canin wet food which they love also.

Great Product

All of my senior cats love the formula. Easy transition from old food. Does not irritate their tummies at all. No vomiting or GI issues at all.

Don't waste your money!

My cat Archie is in the early stages of kidney disease so the vet recommended that I put him on this diet. The ingredients are awful - corn, gluten, meat by products. And apparently it tastes bad as my cat would not eat one single kibble. So left it out to see if my other cats (3) would eat this. NOT ONE SINGLE CAT WOULD EVEN TOUCH THIS!!!! So now I have a product that cost @ $65 that is totally worthless and in time will be thrown out. We will stick with Farmina, which is wholesome, great ingredients and all 4 cats love it.

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet

My cat eats this without any problem. In general, Royal Canin seems to have be well flavored products. The price is a bit high, even for a small bag. Chewy has verified the prescription with my vet and shipped the item in record time.
