Surprised.
We have lots of scratching posts but none are very sturdy. When they fell over, the cats (2) just lost interest. I was very surprised at how sturdy this post was. They climb up easily and one cat loves to sleep on the base. Having two different sides was a nice change. And the heavy bottom keeps it stable and upright. This was a very good choice .
My cat highly recommends this scratching post.
My (newish) sofas were Loki's preferred scratching posts. I tried and returned posts from a couple of local pet supply stores that were too light weight, too skinny or too short for a good stretch and scratch. These are heavy and much scratched upon and I have my sofas back! They arrived wrapped in many yards of plastic wrap which I saw as unsustainable so I was disappointed with that. But I wrapped my sofas in that plastic wrap to thwart the cat's usage of sofa and gently nudge her into using something else. It worked! So, thank you, Chewy, for both the post AND the plastic wrap. Smiley Face!
The best scratching post!
Our cats love this scratching post! This is the best scratching post we have ever purchased! Our cats enjoy both the carpeted and sisal sides. This scratching post is tall, so our large cats can stretch when they scratch on the post. The base is heavy enough so that we have never seen it tip. Very sturdy and very well made! We liked it so much that we bought a second one.

Very pleased with this scratching post. Finding a tall, freestanding carpeted post is like searching for a needle in a haystack but the search is over. This post gives our cats the ‘reach and scratch’ that they desire. They began using it immediately after taking it out of the box and have continued to use it multiple times daily. They love it! Only cons: 1. I wish both sides were carpeted, which would extend its use, as our cats have never used the rope/sisal side of anything we’ve purchased. 2. I wish the base/post was a little heavier to prevent tipping (our cats are aggressive scratchers as if they’re in a boxing ring). Although it did come with an anti-tip strap which you affix to a wall. I like to set it near our furniture to promote desirable scratching habits, so affixing to a wall is not an option for us. Overall, excellent scratcher. Would definitely buy again.
High Quality Scratcher
This is the 3rd Royal Boutique Cat Scratching Post that I have bought for my Stevie as I have found these to be the best on the market. Well made, high quality carpet and heavy and exactly what my little boy loves to use. As soon as I took it out of the box he began using as well as he loves to sit on top of it and look out the window and I know that he will not destroy this like many others that are not as well made. In fact we have a total of 5 located both of our homes. Definitely consider this type of scratching post if you want a well made, good quality item that will last for years.
Great Scratch Post!
My cat took to the Pyramid Cat Scratcher immediately and has been doing most of his scratching there. He also loves hopping up to the top and looking around the room.
Great scratching post
My two big cats love this post. It’s tall enough for them to get a good stretch. They like the carpeting the best. And they haven’t been able to knock it over yet.
Scratching tower
Finally a good sized tower for a full grown cat. My boys can reach up and stretch while clawing, which is more natural for them.
Two scratchers in one
I have two cats. One prefers scratching on sisal rope covered things and one prefers carpet covered and/or cardboard scratchers. So, this is perfect since it has both. Both cats love scratching on it; the nice height lets them get in a good stretch too! I would have given this product 5 stars but the carpeted side sheds every time it’s used. There may be no way of preventing this but if the manufacturer could figure it out, this scratcher would be 5-star PERFECT!
