This tree is sturdiest one we've found in years. The carpet was much better grade than other trees we've bought and there were no strings nor staples. I used a Dyson to vacuum it with few carpet strands in the canister, ran my hands over every surface and used a flashlight to look for those pesky strings that kitties love to chew. This tree passed my critical inspection with flying colors. The cradle is 17" long, 12" wide inside. The barrel openings are 6 1/2" wide, the oval window is 10" wide, 6 1/2" tall and 11 1/2" tall inside the barrel. There is 31" of scratching post between the cradle and floor. They love it so much I ordered another model for another room. This one arrived in excellent condition, wrapped tightly in plastic so as to protect it from the elements and was inside the cardboard box. I did lose a tree once in shipping due to water damage, so this is a smart move. I really appreciate Nicole's in Customer Service with her help with measurements.
