I purchased this to have my dog on my paddle board with me while I paddle a little offshore. It fits her really well, and she is still able to swim and move around
I purchased this to have my dog on my paddle board with me while I paddle a little offshore. It fits her really well, and she is still able to swim and move around in it. I love the bright color so I can spot her immediately in the water. I also love that there are not a ton of flailing straps and buckles all over the place for her to get snagged on something. Love it.

Molly joined me in my kayak on lakes and rivers in New England all summer, and her life jacket was perfect. She got excited as soon as she saw me pull it from the closet. Though it's a bit stiff, Molly could sit, lie, walk, or swim in it comfortably. She got so many pets from people who thought she looked adorable in it! One time, Molly jumped out of the kayak onto what looked (to her) like a solid surface, but it was just water lilies. I was able to easily grab the handle on the back and help her recover. Highly recommend. The X-small fits an awkwardly-sized chiweenie perfectly.

These are built well and help, but I notice that both of my dogs' heads still sit low in the water when swimming. This is fine, but if they actually needed to save my dogs' lives, I feel like the dogs would have to exert too much energy to keep their heads above water in the time in took to be resuced. Just a suggestion for future models -- in my opnion, the head is the most important aspect to keep out of the water without effort from the dog. All of this said, I would prbably buy it again because I'm not sure if there is a better product out there yet.

High quality option for small dog
Used this for me 18 lb doggy. She’s got a longer back and little legs, and this fit her great. It’s obviously high quality and will last for many adventures.

Easy to run around in and doesn't make it hard for him to swim
Simon is not a great swimmer, so I got this to allow us to play safely in/around the pool. It doesn't make him float too much in a way that would make it harder
Simon is not a great swimmer, so I got this to allow us to play safely in/around the pool. It doesn't make him float too much in a way that would make it harder to swim or ride up on his head. It just gives him a little boost. He can also easily run around in it so we can just keep it on when we're at the beach or around other water for non-swimming activities and still be safe. It was a little challenging to adjust for his body dimensions while he was wearing it, but we figured it out. I like how visible the yellow is in the pool.

I ordered 2 of these. A small for Layla and a medium for my Weinaramer granddog. My granddog swam 8 miles down river with us in our kayaks. I was going to return it for a large but his humans decided it was fine, lol, as long as he doesn’t gain any weight. He is a born swimmer but since most of the water was deep I thought he needed a life jacket. I researched inline for the best jacket for ease of swimming and comfort and this is the one I decided on. He swam most of the way, getting out occasionally to run on a gravel bar but the jacket provided the flotation support be needed to allow him to swim 8 miles without being too tired. He also didn’t seem to mind wearing the vest. It must of been comfortable. Today, we tried out Layla’s. She likes water but not necessarily swimming. I wanted to be able to take her kayaking and not have to worry about her if we tipped over. We did not nut she did lose her balance and fall over the side once. Her jacket immediately flipped her upright and she swam to shore. She also did not seem to mind wearing the jacket. It looks like it would be comfortable. The neck piece holds their head above water. It is very easy to adjust and to put on. I highly recommend this life vest for any dog but especially for those who are going to be in the water, swimming.

This Ruffwear Life Jacket fit my 85lb golden retriever very well. I purchased the large size which agreed with his measurements according to the size guide. I had purchased a different brand previously and the belly portion was too large lengthwise. The Ruffwear jacket shape is shorter on the belly and doesn't interfere with his dog parts. ;)
Best Life Jacket for Dogs Period!
This is our second purchase of a Ruffwear life jacket for our dog. The original jacket has lasted 10 years! It still works but was getting a bit ratty--we boat
This is our second purchase of a Ruffwear life jacket for our dog. The original jacket has lasted 10 years! It still works but was getting a bit ratty--we boat at ton in the ocean during the summer so it was time for a new one. This jacket is incredibly well made, fits like a glove and comfy for our dogger. Highly recommend!

I’ve never been disappointed in any Ruffwear product. I have a very tall and fit 85 pound female golden retriever that swims and fetches her Ruffware frisbees in the water every weekend. She doesn’t need a float coat, but for certain situations, you want to have one on the boat. Like Fourth of July fireworks where it is dark and noisy, and there’s a lot of other boats. And if she fell in, without her pup plank deployed it would become a big deal. It looks and fits great. We tested it. She can jump out of the boat just fine and swim just fine with it on. Highly recommended.
