RYPetmia Carpeted Running Wheel Cat Treadmill, Large: 31.5-in, Custard

I bought this wheel primarily for my ferrets. (The practical diameter of this is not as large as it looks; I would NOT recommend a 31.5 inch wheel for larger cats like in some of the review photos.) The Custard color is unattractive (the gray was sold out), however the plastic is sturdy and the entire unit appears to be easy to wash. It went together fairly easily--do NOT attempt assembly when it is cold (let it warm to room temp if it was delivered in winter); I was able to flex the pieces around the tab slots, which made it easier to put together. The carpet went on easily and has stayed on--although my aggressive-digger ferret did manage to pull it up once where the ends join. He is also an enthusiastic runner--the wheel spins *very* well and SUPERVISION IS A MUST. He can get up enough speed to loop-the-loop (spin himself all the way around) so I always sit nearby, ready to slow it down, when it is in use. The gap between the wheel and the base across the long edge is very small; I would not worry about cat feet getting stuck but ferrets should be closely watched. The gap across the short side of the base could allow an inquisitive ferret to get under the wheel, so again: SUPERVISED USE. The wheel lock is effective and *always* set when there is no supervision, and the entire unit is quite stable (at least with ferrets). Worth the money for providing my more active ferret to work off some energy.

My cat doesn't use it much other than the carpet for scratching, and I have to engage with her to use it, which is about 10-15 seconds at most. I can say it's not for my cat but I've seen similar items used for others.

For the price, it was very quick to put together, and works as intended. I like being able to lock the wheel with the included fish shaped break. The instructions for assembly were clear, and having some arm power insured that the wheel snapped together. If you struggle with strength, maybe get a helper. The little cat toy included helped get my cat interested on the wheel. With further training and play time, I think my cat will play with it on her own.
