will it work on long haired cats

This shedding blade is good for short and long haired cats.
What is the diameter of the blade and the overall length of the tool? Thanks

The blade has a 3 inch diameter and the entire length of the tool measures 7.5 inches.
How do you work/use this tool, and can you pull the handles apart?

To use, gently pull the tooth side of the blade through the cat's coat. Brush in the direction of hair growth and begin at the head and work toward the tail. Be sure to thoroughly groom the chest, underbelly, and hind legs. The shedding blade can be used on all breeds of cats and regular grooming minimizes shedding, reduces hairballs and improves the appearance of your cat's coat. The handle does not pull apart on this product.

It’s ok?

I have a shorthair and a longhair cat. This definitely works better for the shorthair but it’s not great, wish the teeth were a bit longer. The teeth are also very rounded so they don’t catch/ grab the hair at all so it all just floats around everywhere. I’m glad I tried it, maybe it will work better on my dog but for the cats I will probably stick with the good old slicker brush!

Undercoat Master

This Safari Shedding Cat Blade is easy to use and the cats don't mind it either! It is a master at helping thin out the undercoat and cuts down on shedding so much so that when I don't brush my cats after a week I can see them grooming themselves twice as much to get rid of the fur that this brush aids them in thinning out.

Best Brush!

I love these brushes. They are the best for getting all that extra hair off my cats! Even better, my cats love it! You tap the metal end on something and they come running to get brushed

I love this

I brush my cats everyday and thought I got a lot of fur each time. I used this for the first time and am amazed at how much more fur was left on my cats. I wish it contained the fur, but I just keep a brush ready to catch all of that wispy fur that flys away. Works great!

Grooming my cat

Wonderful on British shorthairs

I bought this for my domestic long hair cat, but it didn’t work out as I expected. I took it to my brothers house and used it on his British Shorthair kitty and it was Ah-mazing!!! It gently deshedded her like a dream. She usually hates being brush but she let me brush her for five minutes, which is 10x longer than normal. I highly recommend for fine, dense short hair cats and dogs. It’s a game changer.

It actually works!

I was skeptical but I'm glad I decided to get it. This is for superficial loose fur and not a deep coat brush. I thought it didn't work at first but once I learned how to use it, it has been great. Don't push down when you brush. I just lightly and quickly brush my cats and an unbelievable amount of fur comes off. My one cat hates the deep coat brush but she actually enjoys this one, I think because it's way more gentle.
