will it work on long haired cats

This shedding blade is good for short and long haired cats.

How do you work/use this tool, and can you pull the handles apart?

To use, gently pull the tooth side of the blade through the cat's coat. Brush in the direction of hair growth and begin at the head and work toward the tail. Be sure to thoroughly groom the chest, underbelly, and hind legs. The shedding blade can be used on all breeds of cats and regular grooming minimizes shedding, reduces hairballs and improves the appearance of your cat's coat. The handle does not pull apart on this product.

What is the diameter of the blade and the overall length of the tool? Thanks

The blade has a 3 inch diameter and the entire length of the tool measures 7.5 inches.

I got one of these for my domestic short haired kitten after realizing that a typical brush didn’t catch all of her shedding that she’s been doing, and knowing the success my mom had with a similar one. Good handle, good color, and VERY good results!! I brush her with it while she eats her breakfast and I have definitely noticed a decrease in all of the fur around the apartment (a huge win for me and my allergies!!). Woot woot!

Safari (shedding cat blade) is Not a well made tool for cats

I have mostly all longhair rescues & have used a round shedding blade for them & a special tangle brush that works wonders on clumps. I bought several of these &

I have mostly all longhair rescues & have used a round shedding blade for them & a special tangle brush that works wonders on clumps. I bought several of these & the metal itself isn’t safe for my kitties-it’s very sharp & shouldn’t be-cheaply made copy of the one I use. The green handle is Not comfortable for your hand. If used consistently it will harm your the fur. I have never found combs or a pet store brush that actually works safely & effectively-they only touch the surface-cats & dogs need something that will help their skin/dander issues as well as keep their fur soft, fluffy & tangle free without harming them.
