Can these stay on 24/7?

Answer by ChewySep 05, 2025
Scoot Boots can be left on 24/7 with regular maintenance checks.

Can these be used over a shoe?

Answer by ChewyNov 09, 2025
Scootboots are not designed to be worn over metal shoes, but they can be worn over sliders to assist the horse during transportation, turnout or exercise. Horses need to be able to feel the ground to avoid potential injury; which is why horses carefully walk over unstable, rocky terrain.

I had a friend who just loves her scoot boots. I wanted to, as I needed a therapy boot for turn-out. My other concern is that sand and rocks can get in between the hoof and bottom of the boot. And the mud straps are very rigid and my fear was rubbing sores. But the worst part of the boots is getting them on and off. My hands are getting arthritic, and it was painful on my fingers. Even when using a hoof pic to get them strapped on. And I've watched my friend putting them on all four hooves before a ride... she is exhausted after putting them on her horse and can hardly mount up!

Expensive and don’t stay on.

I like these boots but my horse gets them off. This is my second pair I could not find one of the boots from the first pair. They fit tight and my horse still gets

I like these boots but my horse gets them off. This is my second pair I could not find one of the boots from the first pair. They fit tight and my horse still gets them off. And when I say they’re tight I mean I have trouble closing the straps in the front. I like these boots but the original boots work better. I wanted these so I had a space for a pad. Trying to transition my horse out of shoes with these. I got air tags so I can find them if my horse loses them.

Nice but Pricey

Still working out which straps to use and best adjustments, but these seem like good boots for short term use.
