Apply a thin coat of ointment, sufficient to cover most of the dog's nose. The entire nose does not need to be covered. Re-apply as needed.
Used the ointment for both of my fur babies. It worked but for a very limited time.
Unfortunately this had a very minimal effect on our doggo.
I bought this because my dog is afraid of storms and even rain. I have tried calming sprays, calming beds, music, as well as this product. This was recomended by a friend who said it worked on all of her dogs. Maybe it's not the product. Just doesn't work for my maltesse. It was worth a try.
Let me describe my 4-year-old rescue. In his 1st year of life, he survived ALL the bad things: birth in a puppy mill, being a bait dog, being adopted and returned twice to the pound, then being on the euthanize list. That’s when we adopted him — a severely underweight 9 month old who didn’t know how to eat or drink out of a bowl, or walk on a leash, or do anything else except urinate on himself. He’s come a long way since then with $10k in behavioralists and trainers; he’s a great cuddler and a love bug, but he can get very anxious and worked up at the slightest sound or when he can’t just go play with another dog or if a hooman doesn’t pay him attention. He’s on prescription doxepin for anxiety already. So when I saw a review for this product that described it as working for an extreme barker, I thought, “Ok, I’ll try.” It arrived yesterday at 4 p.m. (along with the Sentry Good Behavior Chews and the Stop That spray, just in case.) Not even 12 hours later, I’m SOLD. It works. I have a new dog. I gave him a chew this morning, and I’ve been putting on the ointment before walks. He’s been able to calm down enough to sit and say hello to hoomans who pass him on walks. He made a new doggie friend today and they played for AN HOUR. I’m so sold, that I’m going to also buy the Sentry calming collar, diffuser and stuffed animal toy for him. I’m all in. It really worked for this trauma rescue.
I wish I was kidding but one of our dog goes around the house and looks for this tube when she's stressed. So I guess it's working and is dog approved. lol
Just one more product I’ve tried for my thunder anxiety dog that does not work.
Love this! My dog calmed seconds after I used it. She was going wild and then calmed down after I applied the ointment to her nose
We just moved and my dog is suffering terrible separation anxiety. I’ve been trying this as well as a pheromone spray and calming chews, but none of them work. She doesn’t even like me putting this on her nose. She tries to back away. It doesn’t help her. It could just work for certain dogs.
I wanted this to work. Recently figured out that my hound mix must be a bit different than most. Seems diffusing lavender oil hypes her up. Unfortunately this did, as well.
Porker hated it on his nose and became agitated rather than calm
