Does it pick up forward and backwards

I want to love it

It's SO hard to maneuver I need two hands when using as a stand-up vacuum. The pedal to lock it in place also requires a hand (rendering the pedal irrelevant) and

It's SO hard to maneuver I need two hands when using as a stand-up vacuum. The pedal to lock it in place also requires a hand (rendering the pedal irrelevant) and it does not pick up pet hair as seamlessly as advertised. (i have a small, short-haired chihuahua) I really wanted to love this vacuum and bragged to my Dyson-dissatisfied friends. However, looks like I need to find something else before I actually strain my wrists.

Love the light and the weight

Works good on floors and thin area rugs but would not recommend for thicker carpets. Could have a longer cord, too and attachments keep getting knocked off.
