I got this tent to put outside over a cat house, I got for a stray cat, that has been coming around for a while now. It's a nice size and keeps the wind and rain off of the area around his house, to keep him extra dry when he likes to sleep in his house with his little face sticking out the doorway of. There's plenty of room under it for his cat house and for him to hang out under cover. He really seems to like it. It was put together pretty easily and is very sturdy. He won't let me touch him yet but atleast I know he has a warm and dry area outside to snuggle into at night now. It also helps to keep the frost off of his house now with the cold weather.

This thing at first was very difficult to get the cover to stretch to reach both ends. It is very important to make sure the frame legs are completely inside the fittings. You can not do this by hand,my husband is strong but you need a rubber mallet like an earlier reviewer stated. You might think the frame is all the way in but if the cover isn't stretching to fit its not. Believe me,we were ready to send it back! Then we decided to try our rubber mallet and ther were still a couple of inches for them to be all the way in. If it is not fitting then the frame is not completely tight and in place. After we hit each end a few times with the mallet the cover went on easily.

I have quite a few animals that pass through my yard and stop for a drink of water in the giant bowls I put out. I was looking for a way to shelter them from leaves, snow, and general detritus that blows around. This does exactly what I want, and it's tall enough for the deer to stick their head in without being frightened, but the other reviews complaining about how hard it is to attach the Velcro are all correct! I used a rubber mallet to ensure all of the poles were in as far as they would go, still came up more than 2 inches short. Maybe if I had a second person to help stretch the fabric it would have made it. My solution was to cut some extra wide Velcro strips and attach them to the existing Velcro to extend it by the couple of inches I needed. Worked great, and I happened to have the Velcro anyway so it wasn't too inconvenient. Shelter Logic is a great brand, and I've had great success with them, but this needs to be 2 inches longer.

Easy to assemble, just make sure all the metal pieces are COMPLETELY pushed into their connections. I used a rubber mallet to bang the connections tightly together. Otherwise, you will find that the canvas cover won’t fit. Also, had trouble reading the numbers printed on the metal pieces. Not a big deal, easy to figure out, but would have been easier if the manufacturer used stickers with the numbers vs. having imprinted on the metal.

The instructions state one person is needed for assembly with minimal tools and a +/- 15 minute assembly time is estimated. The frame and canvas took 30 minutes to assemble with another 20 minutes added to fuss with the brackets and bolts and adjustments required. The product arrived with clear visual instructions, however many of the parts are not clearly labeled for assembly (see photo) which definitelyadds to the assembly time. Also, the anchors were provided, but not utilized at this time, so additional time would need to be allotted if these are used. Assembly tip: Be sure to insert the poles fully into one another before moving on to the next step in order to keep everything fitting properly, including getting the velcro to attach around the poles. Fully assembled, the shelter remains fairly lightweight and easy to move around, and would definitely require being secured to the ground if being left out in any windy or stormy weather. The instructions make note that it is not meant as a snow shelter. The dogs went right under it and look like they will enjoy a break from the sun!

This outdoor pet shelter came as described.y husband and 10 year old son put it together pretty easily. It is large enough for both of my German Shepherds and a kid to sit under. It’s been outside for about 2 weeks, in some pretty hot weather and does seem to feel cooler underneath the canopy. We have kept it on our back porch as that’s where our dogs typically hang out. It isn’t waterproof like I initially thought. If it rains too hard it will drip around the seams. We do not have it anchored down but it seems heavy enough to not blow away in heavy wind.
Sturdy and protects from rain and snow
We put this over an outdoor heated cat house and his automatic feeder. Seems to do a good job of keeping both dry. No complaints.

Shade will not Velcro
I bought this for my livestock guardian dog and it’s the perfect size and the construction of it seems sturdy enough, but I cannot for the life of me get the Velcro
I bought this for my livestock guardian dog and it’s the perfect size and the construction of it seems sturdy enough, but I cannot for the life of me get the Velcro to meet and fasten. I made sure all joints were fully connected, I called in help, I have tried everything and still on side is completely detached. I will try and but more Velcro and piece it together myself, just a bummer it doesn’t come functional.

tarp fit frustrating
The overall quality is solid and the ease of build is good, but the tarp is a smidge too small and is super frustrating to get it to fit across the length of it
