This carrier was perfect for air travel. My dog is a 9 pound chihuahua. There wasn’t much room for her to stand up when it was completely zipped. The carrier measures about 9 inches tall and then another inch on the bottom for the wheels. It was very convenient to have the wheels and it made transporting her through the airport easy. No problems fitting the carrier under the airplane seat (Allegiant). If you have a small, short dog this carrier is perfect. If you have a little taller dog, you may want to opt for a carrier without the wheels and take that extra room for carrier space. I kept it unzipped when we were walking in the airport. I zipped it fully when we were onboard the aircraft. My Peanut was quite the star in the airport terminals!
This is our second Sherpa Ultimate on Wheels cat carrier, although we bought our first one on a different river-size company. We had our first one for several years before we decided to replace it. We love this carrier for taking our cats to the vet. We take them at the same time. Our girl is only 7 pounds, but her brother is 15 pounds, so it’s easier having wheels when taking them in. Everyone comments on how much they love it, especially the vets and techs, so when they have to take the two to the back, they don’t have to carry them. It’s expensive but worth what it saves for your back.
I have used my Sherpa twice before this incident today on the way to the airport. My dog was able to pop his head up, which intern broke the zippers on each side of the top flat and I was unable to close the top. I was on my way to the airport and ended up canceling my flight because I couldn’t get a pet carrier formy dog in time.
The bag held my 12 lb dog easily, The bag rolled nicely. straps were good. had no problems great bag
Plenty of room for our 16 lb Schnoodle, laying down. Luckily, flight crew allowed his head to pop up. Would have liked an expandable handle.
My old cat carrier was on wheels, very heavy and front entry. I needed something lighter on wheels with top entry as my cat has a back problem. This carrier works great! It is lighter than my old one, rolls easier and the top entry was MUCH better for my cat. Thank you.
This rolling carrier worked really well. It was roomy but small enough to fit under the seat in front but I had to maneuver it in and out. 12# cat able to turn around. Very happy with the purchase. Flag needs to be changed to bright orange or yellow. My 10 year old granddaughter made me a brighter replacement.
My cats have been napping in it. On the one trip to the vet I made so far it worked fine
This bag helped me big time when I took my cat with me on Southwest Airlines. It can fit a small/medium size cat easily and has enough room for the cat to stretch legs once seated. The bag is airline compatible. The only downside is some cats may not be able to stand once inside the bag.
My 10yr old yorkie loves this carrier. She is blind and you can tell she feels comfortable and safe in this carrier. Fits perfect under front airline seats. Wheels are very well made, easy to move around in the busy Airport. Recently traveled with 2yr old grandson and he had no problem pulling this carrier through the airport. People were amazed how easy it was for him to take his favorite pet alone for the ride.
