With the mouse ears facing away from you, the three batteries are inserted with the completely flat side of the battery facing toward the mouse ears and the positive side facing you.

To change the batteries, use a phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the cover on the back of the toy. Once opened, change out the batteries and reattach the cover.

Works as advertised but battery life/cost not worth it
The laser lases, the cat enjoyed it. My issue is that the battery does not last terribly long, and it somehow costs more to get a replacement battery than it does

I kept buying the cheap laser toys from the dollar store but they don't last much and they hurt my finger really bad, so I was looking for an alternative and found this one. It's so cute and big enough so it's easy to find if I misplace it. The button is comfortable to push and the red dot is bright and a good size, my cat loves it and we can play so much longer with this one because my fingers don't hurt. I haven't needed a new battery yet, but I should probably start shopping for extra batteries 'cause this is my baby girl's favorite toy.

AWESOME
My kitty, Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Cheese for short) loves it. We were hoping she would and I’m so so SO glad she does!!! The light is very bright even in some sunlight

Unsure of its battery life yet, but hoping the batteries don’t die too fast. Worth my purchase! Only thing I think might turn people off is the pressing of the button is constant, no switch. But I don’t mind it.
