I bought my first bag but there was a hole so chewy replaced it. My cats were eating a different flavor of soild gold and they loved it. I decided to buy them this

I bought my first bag but there was a hole so chewy replaced it. My cats were eating a different flavor of soild gold and they loved it. I decided to buy them this one in hopes that they would love it just as much as the other one. They love it but it definitely gives them both diarrhea which is not what I wanted. So I will be going back to the other flavor that they liked.

Long time user of this food

We have been using this Solid Gold food for our dogs for almost 30 years. It has helped a number of our "kids" live to 15+ years old. But recently it was changed

We have been using this Solid Gold food for our dogs for almost 30 years. It has helped a number of our "kids" live to 15+ years old. But recently it was changed and our dogs didn't like it as much. They should leave a good product alone! I would still recommend it to people tho. No recalls on this food ever!

Large, Extremely Hard Pieces

I really wanted my cats to like this food because of Solid Gold’s long history of manufacturing great pet foods and because of the specific ingredients. Both

I really wanted my cats to like this food because of Solid Gold’s long history of manufacturing great pet foods and because of the specific ingredients. Both my cats were eager to try it. They seemed to love the smell and taste. But both were gagging and regurgitating it immediately after eating. The pieces were too large. So, not wanting to waste any (I spent tons of time and money trying to find a new dry kibble and wet food for my cats who had a newly acquired horrible reaction to their last food), I got out a heavy mallet, laid a serving of the food out on a cloth placed on concrete, covered it with more cloth, and pounded away with the mallet. I was expecting a myriad of broken pieces. What I got instead was a very tired arm and a couple of flecks of dust mixed in with the still whole pieces. No wonder the cats were gagging! This stuff is apparently indestructible! Not even soaking it in warm water helped. In case you’re wondering, the food that finally proved to be the winner for my two cats was Halo whitefish formula kitten food. No more gagging. No more disastrously stinky and messy litter box, and two cats that enthusiastically devour the chicken free formula.
