Even My Super Picky Cat Showed Interest!

I tried the Soulistic Moist & Tender Tuna & Salmon Dinner in Gravy, and my two Siamese boys had pretty different reactions — in a good way! My 13-year-old, Sushi, loves it. I split one pouch between the two of them, and he basically couldn’t get enough. He almost finished his bowl, then wandered over to Paz’s (my 3-year-old picky eater) and finished that one too — then came back to polish off his own bowl. Completely clean plates all around. The pouch actually gives a generous amount of meat and gravy, which I really like — it’s got a good balance of moisture and texture. Sushi seems to really enjoy that combination. Now Paz is extremely picky — usually won’t even touch something if he’s not interested. But he actually ate a bit of this one before going back to his dry food, which says a lot for him. Every cat’s different, of course, but it was nice to see that even my toughest food critic showed some interest. Overall, I’d say it’s a great option if you’ve got cats who enjoy fish flavors or if you’re looking for something with a good balance of meat and gravy. Sushi’s definitely a fan, and Paz didn’t completely reject it — which is a small miracle on its own! 😹

Packaging isn't so great but the ingredients solid

I intended to try the Soulistic Moist & Tender Tuna and Salmon Dinner in Gravy, but the pouch I received was a different tuna recipe but from the same brand. Since the ingredients and texture are probably similar in quality, I can still share my experience. As a pet mom, I like the ingredient list. It looks like a healthy wet food option. Of my three cats, two ate it fairly well, but the third did not care for it. The texture had more gravy than meat, and it smelled strongly of fish, which I guess fits the flavor profile. What I do not like: the price feels high for the small quantity, and the pouch packaging is messy and wasteful. A lot of food sticks inside, and it is not curbside recyclable. The brand offers a mail-in recycling program, but you have to clean, store, and ship the pouches yourself, which is not practical. Overall, I would not buy this again because of the pouch and the price, even though the ingredients themselves are solid. I would potentially try a canned option by this brand in the future so see if it more suits my situation.

Having multiple cats can be a challenge. It's always my goal to buy cat food that all my cats like and that I don't have to buy each one individual cat foods. Well when this came in the mail, right away it was loved by all. I'm putting it in my shopping cart!! This really has been a blessing. I also love that everything comes out of the pouch, and I don't have to take a fork or a knife and scrape for more. It just all comes right out. When I have to give my one cat his medicine I dip the syringe in it so the outside of the syringe is coated in this cat food, so when I give it to him his medicine isn't so bitter. He gets to also taste soulistic moist and tender!

This review will be a fight between our cat and us. The cat LOVES this food, and finishes is bowl all the way when he's usually a more finicky eater and will take his time, not with this food. The downside for us is that it is very smelly, and I supposed because it's all great ingredients, so I am willing to overlook that. However the pouches are not great, a lot of food gets stuck in the bottom after opening and pouring and it's hard to scrape it out from a narrow pouch. A little swirl with water helps sometimes but often not. Will switch to the cans!

My cat loves any food with gravy--the more the better. This is the first high quality food I've found that fits the bill, since most have nice chunks of human-quality

She will not eat those, but LOVES this one, since it has a lot of gravy while also having very good quality. I know she's getting good nutrients with this one. Bravo to Soulistic!

They liked it!!! I have two older cats, female and male, and they both gobbled it up. It had a lot of gravy which i like in order to increase their liquid consumption

They liked it!!! I have two older cats, female and male, and they both gobbled it up. It had a lot of gravy which i like in order to increase their liquid consumption and chunks of something. It did smell a little to me...but they ate it so fast who cares. I got it as part of a promotion but based upon the positive cat reviews, ingredients and price, will definitely add to the rotation.
