My dog has a previous neck injury, is the pressure from this collar when the dog pulls mainly in the chest or neck?
Answer by ChewyAug 20, 2018
This product works by stopping your dog from pulling by putting the tension around his chest and back instead of his neck. Due to your dog's previous injury, please consult a veterinarian before using.

Great Halter

We had one of these for our first OEB (Old English Bulldogge) it was the only way to train him. I made the mistake of lending it to some folks that were going to return it but never did. Now we have a new puppy another OEB and I didn't hesitate to order one for our new puppy. He's sixteen weeks old, and its a little big on him but works fine. I'm sure this will last the whole time he needs to be trained to not pull on his leash. If you have any kind of hard pulling dog this halter will give you complete control in no time, with out any pulling on their neck. Highly recommend this halter.

Not Durable

Broke within less than a year of use. This is the second time we've tried this halter, and it just doesn't seem to hold up.

not great.

It's a little aggravating to set up and get on. And the arm padding easily falls off the straps leading too additional time feeding the straps back through the padding...a little elastic at the opening of the padding probably would've helped. Once it was all put together and strapped on it moderately reduced pulling although pretty much only when the dog was going straight ahead in front of us. I think our front-mount harness with the martingale collar does a somewhat better job all around.

not good

This training halter is too complicated and doesn’t stay on or when it does it does work. Total fail.

Immediate Positive Results

I was desperate to find a way to walk my new 6 yo Lab foster dog without her pulling and straining. VERY high prey drive and moderately dog-reactive. I had used a similar under the front leg harness before with another dog but this pup is a much stronger pull-lunger and I was really discouraged. Out of the box, the harness rig looked well built. I took one of the training treats she loves and rubbed it along the inside and outside of the collar and the nylon string parts. She didn't seem to mind the getup in her excitement to get started on the walk. AFTER A FEW STEPS, she got with the program! I hadff to adjust the tightness of the cords a few times. Thrilled. I am thrilled. If that changes after we get more time in with it I will adjust the review.

A reasonable option

Has made hikes with my 25 lb dynamo more comfortable for both of us. It has helped a lot with her pulling.

Not what I expected

To hand to figure out how to put on a toddler lab. They need to make it user friendly

Best Investment Ever!

Tried many no-pull harnesses in the past and our dog would either figure them out or hate them so he wouldn't walk. He doesn't mind this one at all and best of all, he doesn't pull! He's a sled dog breed, so it was a real problem!

Did not stop the pulling

I had high hopes for this halter. It did not stop my dog from pulling. Back to the prong collar.

Sporn training halter

Tje collar worked fine for me. It helped the dog from pulling quite as much. However, it is a little awkward to get on and off.
