Probably not best for small rodents

Got this for my meat rabbits as it was a better price for 2lbs more than the sweet meadow brand on here which I highly recommend but it pricy. It also is grown more local to me than the sweet meadow. Although my good eater chows down on it, my picky eater does not care for it which I anticipated and figured would happen as he doesn’t eat much hay forage, mostly pellets and fresh greens. However the biggest issue I have with it is it’s mostly stem, hardly any leaf, and it is not chopped up and compressed as the photo online showed. It is stringy, compressed, and very hard to pull apart to divide into my storage boxes I keep hay in. For me it works as I’m using it as a third option for food along with pellets and fresh forage so if they choose to eat it, great, if they don’t then it works for extra bedding around pens. But..For people who are feeding this to indoor pet rabbits, or similar indoor rodent companions I would not recommend. You’d probably have a big mess on your hands and stickers/slivers in your fingers. I come from a background of horses and cows and living on a farm so although I find it to be decent alfalfa for feeding, I do know it probably wouldn’t be fun to work with if it was used for companion pets in a household setting or For someone with soft hands. (No judgement on the soft hands part! LOL) as well as, not up to par for a picky eater animal.
