This hay bag was purchased as a slow feeder option with its 1 1/2" openings. But it's got some definite flaws when put to use. First, the straps are really basic and do not give any security whatsoever to closing the top. A slow feeder should NOT allow the horse easy access to the hay from the top! Also, it's flimsy and difficult to load--kind of collapses in on itself without any way to hang it so it stays open for loading flakes. All in all, not real helpful for the problem it is supposed to solve...fortunately this horse's stall has a 6' panel that I now have to climb to the top to try to get creative strapping this bag closed and hang it high so he cannot reach in to just grab the hay. We will see how long it lasts....
