Stella & Chewy’s Gourmet Stew is a high quality wet dog food made with visible, whole food ingredients rather than a uniform pâté. You can clearly see the chunks of meat and vegetables in the can, which makes it feel much closer to real food than many wet dog foods. My dog really enjoyed it, and it was very palatable. That said, it’s important to note that while this recipe is marketed as a duck-based formula, it does contain chicken (chicken broth, cage free chicken, and chicken liver). This may be an issue for dogs with chicken allergies or for owners looking for a true single-protein or duck-only option. The food is on the pricier side, but if it fits your budget, the quality of ingredients makes it a strong choice.

I have a 5 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi and I don’t know what a 2.5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog and they both go crazy for this food. they love the flavor and I use this food as a topper on the cable as well as a snack/reward throughout the day. While both of my dogs love how this tastes, I am more concerned with ingredients and quality, and they are both amazing! This food smells great and looks appetizing. I love that I can see whole pieces of ingredients and that it is truly what it says in the ingredient list. It is a high-quality dog food, no matter if you feed it exclusively or if it is used as a topper on kibble.

My street dog turned princess turns her nose up at certain foods and textures. She thankfully LOVES this. It looks like a hearty stew and has healthy, quality ingredients. We had a health scare recently where she wouldn’t eat anything and I’m so grateful we had cans of this over Christmas on hand as this was the only food she would consume and stores were closed. This is made with cage free duck and chicken liver so she gets all her protein needs. I care greatly what my babies eat and highly recommend this.

Gave this to my two pups at home as a snack just to try it out. They loved it, and I love that it is made without by-product meals, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Really trying to be more aware of what I am giving to my pets. I also love that it looks like real food- I can see the chunks of meat and veggies. Would definitely buy this for them as a staple and feel good about them eating it.

I do also use the freeze dried, but I was out and decided to give the can food a try. And I can tell you that they absolute love it! When I’ve got picky mamas that really don’t want to eat I can honestly say they will eat this.

The texture and smell were appealing, which made it easy to use as a special addition to meals.
