About Stella and Chewy’s

In 1997, Marie Moody adopted a dog named Stella from a local animal shelter. She soon decided that Stella needed a companion and adopted a sick pup named Chewy, who joined the family and helped forge the company’s history. On the advice of a veterinarian, Marie began feeding Chewy a raw diet to help with his health issues. He quickly recovered, and both he and Stella thrived on their new food. The experience led Marie to pursue her passion for pet nutrition and start her own business—Stella & Chewy’s.

Questions & Answers

3 Customer Questions

How many patties come in a bag?

Answer by ChewyAug 04, 2019
There are approximately 28 patties in the 14 ounce bag. Please note patty count per bag may vary slightly due to the product being filled by weight.

How does the food need to be stored? In the refrigerator or room temperature?

Answer by ChewySep 24, 2022
This food should be kept in a cool, dry place. Always reseal bag before storing. If you add water to the patties, remove any leftover and discard after 2 hours. Stella & Chewy's freeze-dried foods have an expiration date of 18 months past the date of production. It is suggested to use our products by this date, or within a few days after. Much past that and we would recommend discarding the bag. Freezing or refrigerating would not extend the listed shelf life.

What is the dry matter phosphorus content of this food, please?

Answer by ChewyJul 21, 2024
This recipe has a phosphorus content of 1.12% on a dry matter basis.

Great new flavor and a nice addition to the mix

She likes them a little more than the super beef and lamb but not as much as the venison.

Quality

My dogs love these and I use them as a topper as they are too expensive to feed as a meal.

The patties are very greasy to handle, especialloy when breaking them up

I would not order these again as it is way too greasy and probably not great for the dogs.

Pork Recipe

Hard to find the pork recipe, which my dog likes. However, with shipping, it makes it rather expensive, compared the price when I could buy it at Pet Supermarket

The freshness of the food.

Same as other orders. Not enough packing to avoid crumbling.
