The freeze dried coating was a huge hit! The food is actually oven baked, making it much more palatable. Very highly recommend!

Healthy, Good and Fulfilling

I have been feeding my Brussels Griffon, a small-sized adult female dog, Stella & Chewy's Freeze Dried Raw Coated Wholesome Grain Grass-Fed Beef Recipe Dry Dog Food

I have been feeding my Brussels Griffon, a small-sized adult female dog, Stella & Chewy's Freeze Dried Raw Coated Wholesome Grain Grass-Fed Beef Recipe Dry Dog Food and, so far, it's been very agreeable for my beloved pet. It is an average sized kibble in a dome shape and my dog eats it right up. She gets fed 3 small meals per day and her stool hasn't changed, nor been affected in any way, since I started her on Stella & Chewy's, so that's another plus. I feed her just the dry kibble for her morning and afternoon meals and then her 3rd meal in the evening has 2 spoonfuls of canned dog food mixed in with it. I feel that this dry kibble dog food with pumpkin & quinoa is healthy for her. I like that my dog likes this food and is doing well on it as I want her to live a long, healthy and happy life. I feel that my dog does well on a high protein diet and this food is 27% protein, with the protein being first on the ingredient list. Stella & Chewy's is Freeze Dried Raw Coated Kibble a good dog food that I'm happy to have begun feeding my dog and feel certain will keep my dog in her best health.

My dog ate this kibble from my hand as if it were a treat! I mixed it in with the current kibble and he is enthusiastic about this food. He’s hard to buy for as he’s one of the 11- 14% of dogs who are allergic to chicken, and this is a rare chicken-free dog food. It contains a healthy 27% protein with a good mix of pumpkin (good for digestion) and vegetables, and chondroitin and glucosamine for joint health. It’s expensive but it’s a high quality product and we are switching to it!

This appears to be a good product, but it can be difficult to review food for your pets because they can be sensitive to dietary changes. With that in mind, I’ve been kind of treating this food like treats or supplements to their current food. My dogs did love this food but I’m noticing a bit of diarrhea in the yard so I’m not 100% if this is because they have sensitivities to the grains or if maybe they just aren’t used to it. Overall though, the ingredients look healthy and I wouldn’t rule it out. The more they’re eating it the more I think they’re getting used to it. Seems like a nice brand.

I used this food as a topper for their regular kibble that they don’t want to eat. Worked well, they all gobbled it up and it helped them finish their regular kibble. I have 3 dogs so I didn’t use it as a primary kibble but they probably would have liked that. Even my grumpy old American Eskimo was able to chew it cause it’s not super hard and has a coating on that she likes. Having 3 dogs eat the same food is difficult so it’s nice to have something different to add occasionally.

I have two Golden Retrievers (a senior and a juvenile). It’s not easy to find pea-free/potato free grain inclusive red meat formulas that are chicken protein-free. With Stella and Chewy's wholesome grains raw coated Beef Formula, I found a dog food that checked all these boxes and uses high quality ingredients. I don't exactly have picky eaters but my dogs are extremely excited about this formula. I personally like the kibble size and shape for feeding out of food dispensers. Since both dogs are vacuums, dispenser friendly kibble is a must in this home. With rich ingredients and possibly a higher fat formula than some dogs might be used to, I would suggest transitioning the food. Mine both had better stools this way. I would take .1 point off for not listing Calcium and Phosphorus percentages on the bag. The small bag being resealable is a major bonus. I will likely keep small bags on hand for mixing into their train mix and for surprises in the dispensers. It’s a little too caloric dense for my 11 yr old to be her main kibble and my youngster isn't fully grown. This fits great for heart protection in my breed and will be a perfect option for my youngster after she's an adult. Until then, I'll be using it as a dry on-the-go training treat and surprises in the dispensers with their regular formal. My senior, who thinks she really should be allowed to be the inner fat dog she's always wanted to be, will be very excited about these suprises. Lol.

I have several large breed dogs so to avoid any issues I used the stella & chewys has a topper. They eagerly watched has i added the new ingredient on top and ate it up! I also used to encourage my senior to eat when shes have wanting to eat. I would recommend this food as i have used it used as a topper/ treat to your existing food or if needing to find a new one. I have been using Chewys for years and have yet to be disappointed.
