The gate is sturdy and the extension fit our space, but the gate is advertised as 36” tall. Unfortunately, the majority of the gate is shorter than this and our dog was able to jump over. There is nothing in the description of this product that says the sides of the gate are 3 inches shorter.

Exactly what we needed
This is a great gate. It's easy for adults to open and close and secures shut nicely. It's also really easy to take down and the wall mounted parts are low profile

I am SO glad we found this gate, it’s sleek and extra tall to prevent our two huskies from jumping right over it. I also like that you have to lift the door to open it, it adds an extra layer of security. I will say that the locking mechanism is thin plastic and I worry it will break, but with the lift to open mechanism, I believe the gate would still be fully functional without the lock. Super happy with this purchase, it’s been up for a month and we love it so far.

Swings 2 ways!
Super easy to instal, taking less than 10 minutes. A piece of plastic on the gate was broken, but not in a place our pup can reach while teething. (Also not a bother
Super easy to instal, taking less than 10 minutes. A piece of plastic on the gate was broken, but not in a place our pup can reach while teething. (Also not a bother enough to reorder/exchange). I didn't realize this gate swings both ways, meaning if you move through quickly- don't expect it to snap shut behind you. If I move quickly and don't want our pup to follow, I have to turn and make sure to line it up with the latch, so it does in fact latch! Over all- happy and will double this as a baby gate one day.
Description is deceptive but it will have to do
Bought the gate, got it and put it together. We extended it out as far as it would go and it did not reach the 72" that it said it was in the description. My husband
Bought the gate, got it and put it together. We extended it out as far as it would go and it did not reach the 72" that it said it was in the description. My husband had to put wood blocks on the walls to make up for the missing inch on both sides. I'm not excited about it they don't look very nice, but I need the gate to keep my 3 dogs out of the kitchen when I cook.

Purchased the Metal Expansion Walk-Thru Dog Gate to keep our German Shepherd puppy out of our carpeted bedroom while she was in heat. We have French doors that push open so it wasn't an option to just close the doors. We didn't really want to spend so much since we only needed it for a few weeks but there weren't a lot of options at the time. I was planning to resell it afterward to recoup some of our money, however, it works so well we decided to keep it for times when we clean our carpet and it needs to be drying or when we have rainy days and the puppy's paws are dirty so we can prevent her from trekking it on the carpet. The gate can be taken down quickly (or put back up quickly) because the brackets that fasten to the wall can be left in place and the gate just slides right off/on. It is a really well thought out product and worked great for us. The metal is also quite substantial and the gate is sturdy. The door is easy to open and close and can't be accidentally opened by your pet. Kudos to the designer of this product. We're impressed! (For the record, our puppy is 15 months old and 85 lbs.)
