Do the mice contain batteries? What makes them squeak?

The squeaks are due to a built-in electronic sound mechanism that is activated when the toy is touched or pounced on. To activate the rattling sound, you just need to pull the clear plastic tab that is sticking out near the tummy area. Within 15 minutes of playtime with this mouse, I noticed it had already been punctured and the stuffing and sound box was almost completely out! I gave him another mouse, and the same thing happened! I wouldn't recommend this toy. It's very dangerous for furbabies and anyone else!
