This water pump can be used with or without a tube or a hose. If used with a tube or hose the size needed is 1/2 an inch.

The pump has a plastic net, to prevent large debris from entering the motor but there's no sponge-like filter to collect tiny debris.

An acceptable if not perfect catit pump

I bought this to replace the broken pump in my catit flower fountain. It doesn't fit exactly right and is much louder than the original but it is adequate.

Too loud for usage indoors

We have our cats' water fountain set up next to the couch and the motor is loud enough that we can't hear the television. We thought maybe the first pump we received

We have our cats' water fountain set up next to the couch and the motor is loud enough that we can't hear the television. We thought maybe the first pump we received was defective because people were saying it's quiet so we got a replacement and the replacement pump is also too loud.

Used in aquarium

Decent flow. I wanted something for my smaller tanks that would ripple the surface without being too strong (10 and 20 gallon). These work, once I got a better set

Decent flow. I wanted something for my smaller tanks that would ripple the surface without being too strong (10 and 20 gallon). These work, once I got a better set up. Not exactly quiet, but I've had noisier! In order to get it aimed right, I took some spare large suction cups I had from a heater and clipped the pump into it, then stuck that to the glass. I was then able to swivel it upward. Works perfectly! The suction cups on the pump itself are not very good. Eventually, they either slid down the tank or the pump fell off and I'd find it sitting on the bottom. So, my fix did the trick and I'm happy.

A nice compact pump, with pretty strong power for its size. I was surprised when I put the pump at full power and it shot into the air. It’s small size makes it perfect to put into a cat bowl, and no need for a water fountain bowl, love it for my cats regular bowl. Only issue is you have to make sure it’s filled up consistently or the battery will burn its self out.

Sooo noisy

I bought this to increase water for in a 20g fish tank. The very first day I put it in the tank I had to adjust the position of the cord multiple times to get it

I bought this to increase water for in a 20g fish tank. The very first day I put it in the tank I had to adjust the position of the cord multiple times to get it to stop making a wire loud buzzing/vibrating noise. Like, louder than the air pump for my sponge filters. I'm the days since I've tried repositioning it and moving it to different depths of water; eventually it starts buzzing again. Probably going to put it in storage until I forget that it sucks/have a new reason to try it out.
