Would this fit securely on a metal railing?

The metal bird bath attaches easily to your deck or porch with a strong iron railing mount. To set it up, just screw the bowl onto the mount and tighten it to your railing. The deck mount measures 1.25 inches wide, 2.5 inches deep, and 6 inches high, fitting railings that are 1 to 3.5 inches thick. The bird bath weighs 1.2 pounds and can hold 6 cups of bird seed or water.

Great form factor, but do the birds like it?

This is exactly what I needed to mount a bird bath on my deck rail, but I'm not sure the birds are using it. I put a nice rock in the middle in case the surface

This is exactly what I needed to mount a bird bath on my deck rail, but I'm not sure the birds are using it. I put a nice rock in the middle in case the surface is too slippery, but I have yet to spot a bird using it. The squirrels have been drinking out of it, at least.
