Is the unit quiet?

The SunSun HW-302 runs very quiet unless the water levels are low, then it'll sound like a fountain.
does this come with filter media?

Will this work well with sand substrate?

This filter can be used with sand, however it is recommended that the filter be switched off when changing water, aquascaping, or engaging in any act that can potentially stir up sand, as the sand can ruin the filter if pulled through.
How long is the hoses ? And does it come with filter media ?

SUNSUN 75 gal

Great for the price. Could possibly last a year without changing the filter. Everything was perfect beside the the sanitation light was broken when I got it but I don’t think it did much

Items not pictured correctly

This isn’t just about the items listed on this site, but these no longer include the skimmer that’s shown in the item pictures. This is shown on every website that lists these SunSun filters and they never tell you it’s not included. I like the value of SunSun canisters as they work just fine and are very affordable. Which is rare in this hobby. The accessories are well not great but at least they technically work. I would pay an extra $5 for better accessories because you normally have to replace them pretty soon after you get them. Just grease the impeller and the seals bc/ they may not have adequately greased them. Other than those two flaws and I don’t fault them for it as I don’t buy them for accessories anyways I would buy another one if needed.

This thing sucks

Ive had it for almost a year now and its stoped working. Its allways such a pain to actuly get it to suck up the water. It says in the maual you hgad abe to phisicaly push the button again and again for up to 2 hours. Or you can pour water in the tubes. Now its a year old id you pour water in the tubes it overflows and spills every where.

defective but still impressed

I have purchased several of these in the past and am quite happy w/ them. this particular one was defective, but I still like the product and have to say that my interaction w/ Chewy over this was impressive, Kayla was first class and I'll be back for more products.

Filtration done right

This under the tank aquarium filter is powerful and silent. I now have sparkling clear water and no noise! Highly recommended!

Dont buy this

Leaks. Untrustworthy. The screws in the top part were machined to tight. Check close for hairline cracks.

horrible purchase do not buy

does not come with media while in the description it says it does! The filter comes with few attachments! And is not compatible with the UV light so. If you are buying a filter go a size up and get the one with the UV light it is on a "river" and comes with media and all the attachments. This product is complete garbage!
