Questions & Answers

6 Customer Questions

What is the difference between this litter and the regular wheat litter? What is the benefit of it having corn included? :)

Does this stick to the bottom of the litter box?

Answer by ChewyOct 26, 2022
sWheat Scoop Easy Maintenance litter is a stronger, faster clumping litter and is less likely to reach the bottom of the litter box than other brands. You should keep at least 3-4 inches of litter in the box to establish good clumping and odor control. This will also make the litter last longer. To prevent any litter from sticking to the bottom of the litter box, try spraying the box with a non-stick cooking spray before adding in the litter. This will prevent any clumps from sticking.

It says "flushable", does that include septic systems?

Answer by ChewyDec 12, 2023
This litter is septic safe and the wheat enzymes can be beneficial to septic systems. We suggest only flushing one clump at a time and letting it sit in the water for 15-20 minutes before flushing. This allows the clumps to fully break up before being flushed.

is the corn Non-GMO

Answer by ChewyAug 17, 2022
sWheat only uses non-GMO corn in their recipes.

I like this litter much more than I expected to. It really does lock in odors right up until you are actively scooping, then sometimes the urine clumps will break apart and smell a little bit, but that's why I use a litter genie! It tracks just like any other litter, I'm convinced there is no stopping that problem. The best part about this litter is that it's relatively lightweight compared to clay.

The best thing about this product is that tracking is lessened. It's also a natural product. It does seem to create more dust that settles on surfaces than other products. I add regular litter to it which cuts down on the dust. It also comes in a bag which is very heavy when full. I pour this litter into a plastic container with a handle from previous litter using a funnel. This makes it easier to pour when refilling the litter box.

Wheat corn cat litter

This is the best litter I have ever bought. I scoop it every other day and change it out monthly. No problem with odors. Peaches likes it also.

I mixed it with the grass that I was using. It's a little bit bigger size pellets than the grass I had but there didn't seem to be any issue with them using the new litter. The kitten has a habit of kicking the litter out of the box (even though it has a cover) but he doesn't seem to kick the wheat out as much as he did the grass.

I have asthma & allergies, Swheat step has been a lifesaver! "Liter"ally! I have several health issues, and we didn't want plastic bags of used litter. Swheat scoop goes from litter box, to tissue, to toilet. Odor became a problem when our cat's kidney problems worsened. The wheat and corn has really helped. We have used Swheat Scoop since 2006. It seemed to clump and control odor better with our girls back then, but in fairness, our male cat has kidney disease and FIV, and was very sick when we found him about 4 years ago. You will want to let it sit for at least 20 minutes before scooping. It seemed to clump much better until about 2022. But with less odor, it's ok to leave it. I wouldn't use it with a self cleaning litter box.

When I moved back to the US I was looking for something similar. I came across Swheat Scoop and loved how similar it was. This litter scoops easily, clumping action is excellent. I have this litter on auto ship to make it easier on me.
