Best for an event type situation

My gelding has navicular and laminitis and has had lymes and anaplasmosis in the past. Farrier visits come with heightened anxiety due to the long time standing on three legs, decreased general flexibility and stiffness in joints. He has historically needed a Rx sedative to tolerate getting his specialized shoes placed. This might have helped take the edge off enough for a trim, but it doesn’t have enough of a calming effect to make it through a shoeing visit. I think this would be a better fit for a horse who just needed a little something to ease their mind about being in a new place, or around new horses, or a commotion of some kind to help them feel less heightened.

Palatable, no major “ahah” calm moments

Used this before a horse show for my green horse. Smelled great and I mixed it in with his feed. He ate it all fine. I didn’t notice a huge improvement in his demeanor

Used this before a horse show for my green horse. Smelled great and I mixed it in with his feed. He ate it all fine. I didn’t notice a huge improvement in his demeanor that I would have immediately said “wow, it works!” But he overall behaved good enough. Improvement could have been from experience or from this. So I would say palatable and worth a shot if you want to try something to see if it will take the edge off.

I am familiar with this company's products and really wanted to try the SynNutra Equine SynChill AF Calming Gel Starter Pack. Our local club was entered into the Labor Day Parade with our horses. I wanted to make sure this was a good experience and we stayed safe. Horse #1 (16yo Arabian gelding) can be higher anxiety & overreact. Horse #2 (8yo AQHA gelding) with unknown event exposure history. Both horses were given SynNutra Equine SynChill AF Calming Gel 90 minutes prior to the start of the parade. I absolutely love the small volume in the easy to handle tubes. My hands are small and arthritic and I have no problem administering this!! The results we achieved by administering per the package directions were perfect! It took the anxiety edge away from Horse #1. Horse #2 was calm level headed without being sedate. Both horses had a POSITIVE experience that we can build on. We are very happy to have found a product that will work on a variety of horses. Added bonus...it's priced right!! Not over the top expensive. We will for sure be keeping a few SynChill AF Calming Gel on hand!

I used this on my horse due to a change in Farriers. I arrived at the stable in enough time to give it a full hour to work. My horse was never calm for the farrier until the last one spent a long time working with him. This stuff made my sometime very rambunctious horse a cuddle bunny with the new farrier and things went much smoother than I anticipated.
