This food is manufactured in the United States. Depending on the ingredient, Taste of the Wild outsources from other countries including New Zealand, Australia, France, Germany and Belgium. There are ingredients that are critical to the formulations (i.e. folic acid and taurine) that can only be sourced out of China.

Does Ocean Fish Meal mean white fish?

The ocean fishmeal is small ocean fish, such as Menhaden whitefish, are cooked and ground to a fine consistency. A highly digestible source of protein and minerals. Additionally, ocean fish meal supplies marine source omega-3 fatty acids such as DHA and EPA.

Cats not impressed

I got this to feed two indoor cats. One almost 18 the other 12. They just didn't particularly care for it. I will try it on my other cats that go outside weather

I got this to feed two indoor cats. One almost 18 the other 12. They just didn't particularly care for it. I will try it on my other cats that go outside weather permitting and are put in the basement at night and see what they think. Kind of surprised they like trout flavored treats and salmon wet food.

I was looking for a type of dry food that would help with my cat’s allergies. Something that she could eat in the middle of the night while we’re sleeping. She is allergic to everything under the sun (ie chicken, turkey, beef, fish, and hydrolyzed proteins). I stumbled upon this after a friend suggested it and how it helped her animals. I had high hopes bc it didn’t contain chicken and I thought MAYBE, even if my cat was allergic to fish, this may be a winner. Nope. The incessant scratching and licking got worse. She’s losing hair daily and I had to pull this out of her auto-feeder. So, now I’m back to square one. On a high note, she did enjoy eating it. If it wasn’t for the allergies, I would probably still be feeding her this brand.

Interested at first, but then refused to eat

As soon as I put this food in the bowl, my cats were instantly interested in it, but then the next day they refused to eat it outright and went on a hunger strike

As soon as I put this food in the bowl, my cats were instantly interested in it, but then the next day they refused to eat it outright and went on a hunger strike. I had to mix it with their regular food to get through the bag. (I'm mostly writing this review to remind myself to not buy this again. I know Chewy sometimes refunds low reviews, but you don't have to worry about that, Chewy!)

It looks like it was ran over or coyotes got into it.. we live in a very rural area with 6 acres.. it’s not a surprise the box was completely torn up, it normally is. However normally I don’t mind since it’s brought to our door step. I had to carry it 100 yards to my doorstep. Sadly, this will probably be my last chewy order.. we have 3 dogs and a cat. I’m a very loyal costumer.
