What size would I choose for an 80 pound German Shepherd who is still growing?

In general, you'd want to select a size that is close to the length of your dog. The average German shepherd has a back length anywhere from 25-30 inches so, the Large or X-Large would be recommended, depending on if they like to sprawl out.
Is this pad washable in washer and dryer?

In order to maintain the longest life of the product and HyperKewl fabric, it is best to hand wash the garments with a brush and light soap and water. Avoid soaking the garments in soapy water. Simply use the brush to wash off the garment. When you are done cleaning off the garment, hang it to dry (preferably in a dry environment).

Does this cool it’s self or do you have to put water on it or how does it work also does it heat up to

This cooling pad works by “super-charging” the body’s natural cooling process, and this is done with the unique fabric that absorbs and slowly releases water through evaporation—sort of like sweating, only way more effective. And all you have to do is soak the pad in water for one to two minutes, squeeze out the excess, and then enjoy 5 to 10 hours of cooling relief. Additionally, this pad does not currently feature heating capabilities.
