Disappointed that this now requires a script. I was able to avoid a vet bill by using this for my dog. Just clean his eyes of the crusty discharge and apply this in the corner - mostly to prevent discharge from getting crusty and adhering to the fur, but I'm guessing a miniscule amount went in the eyes. It has resolved his issues completely! Worth the vet bill but oh so glad I was able to skip it and ordered a back up tube before it went to "script only"!
Works well

I've used this product for years on my dogs. Most recently I had a puppy clawed in the tear duct by my resident feline grouch. Of course the clawing happened on a Friday night. I used the terramycin just to be on the safe side until my puppy saw the vet. He was fine, his vision is fine, and the terramycin gave the puppy some relief and prevented infection.
How fast it works

I was very disappointed with this item. I understand it will need a prescription in January. First of all, I ordered two. I wanted one as a backup. Well, this medicine isn't cheap and it's small. Understanderably, Chewy doesn't make the price. However, I went to put it on my cat's eyes and by the time I turned around the medicine was oozing all over the place. So, with between the price and the oozing of the product I would suggest getting eye drops, instead. I'm completely disappointed because I don't have money to throw away.

I have used this ointment for years on both my dogs and cats whenever there is a minor eye problem, and things have always cleared up in very short order. Would recommend having this in your pet's first aid kit, just in case.

I thought I used this in the past and it worked so I stocked up on it to keep it on hand but it says ointment. Ointment to my knowledge is not watery. Hard to keep sanitary because you can't just put it on a gloved finger and wipe on pet eye.

I don’t know what happened, but this has not worked at for my cats. This used to work so well. This time it seems to make the issue worse (eyes look more red and irritated), it’s been a few days and no change. Not sure what has changed, but I’m very disappointed.
Made it worse.

I bought this to help two of my birds. One with an eye infection and another with an injured foot to prevent infection. Don't know what happened but in both cases they made the problem worse. Not sure what happened there, both birds were treated with other medications and are both fine.
