Terramycin is used in the treatment of infections such as conjunctivitis, inflamed cornea, pink eye, corneal ulcers and inflammation of the eyelids.
Terramycin is typically safe and serious side effects should not be expected, but some stinging can occur. Contact your veterinarian immediately if your cat has swelling of the face, itching, or appears to have difficulty breathing—these may be signs of an allergic reaction to Terramycin. Talk to your veterinarian about any other side effects that seem unusual or bothersome to your pet.
Before using Terramycin, tell your veterinarian if your pet is using other eye medications, as they could interact with Terramycin. Talk to your veterinarian or pharmacist before giving any additional prescription or over-the-counter medicines.
WARNING: Serious, life threatening, hypersensitivity (anaphylactic) reactions have been reported in some cats following application of antibiotic ophthalmic preparations. If your cat has swelling of the face, itching, appears weak, vomits, or has difficulty breathing within 4 hours of application you should discontinue treatment and contact your veterinarian immediately. Note: The use of oxytetracycline and other antibiotics may result in an overgrowth of resistant organisms such as Monilia, staphylococci, and other species of bacteria. If new infections due to nonsensitive bacteria or fungi appear during therapy, appropriate measures should be taken.
Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride and Polymyxin B Sulfate.
Follow your veterinarian's exact instructions. Terramycin is typically applied 2-4 times per day. Do not stop administering medication or change your pet's dosage without explicit instructions from your veterinarian.

My schnoodle is 12 years old. Since moving near this paper mill in this small town he has developed severe eye infections/allergies. The vet gave him some pills, a steroid shot and some ointment to soothe. None of that worked or even alleviated the problem even a little bit. I read the reviews concerning this medication and thought I would give it a try. His eye infection began to clear up in 3 days. Two weeks later he is completely clear. I will make sure to keep this stuff on hand.
My cat's eyes quit having puss after first use. Kept using it until the red tissue around the eye quit swelling up. This is good only to stop the virus in the eye. And I believe it worked great for that. The virus needed to be stopped before the haze in the eye could be worked on. It did not clear up the haze that was still on and in the eye. I got some eye drops to treat the cataracts in the eye. I hope the drops will help bring back the eye sight. Extra Note: Keep some of this around. First sign of puss, infection in the eye, use it early. It will save your cats eyesight! You'll be thankful you had some!
Do not use this if you value your pet's life! I bought it based on good reviews and used it on my cat to treat an eye infection, and day 1 was ok, but day 2, my cat became lethargic and too weak to hold itself up. I rushed it to the emergency vet and it died in my arms. I will NEVER EVER recommend this stuff to anyone! Total garbage! My cat is dead thanks to this!
I got this for my mom because she has a kitten that was having some eye issues. In the past, we've taken kittens to the vet for this and the vet would send us home with this Terramycin. In 2 days, the kitten's eye cleared up. I definitely feel like this should be in all pet first aid kits.
I have a cat sanctuary and a kitten showed up with its eye swelled shut and a knot of infection above the eye!!!! One tube of this stuff cleared up all the infection and the knot went away!!!! I cancelled the vet appt. Kitten is in good shape
My 19 1/2 year old cat had a yellow discharge from one of her eyes. Rather than stressing her at the Vet, I tried this medication with one drop a day (I held her and my husband applied) and it cleared up within 2 days and she's feeling great!
Use this ointment in all the outside kitten's eyes. Usually, one treatment and their eyes are open and bright. Not unusual for their eyes to be encrusted shut. But it only takes one dose. Great product. 😍
Our goats got a terrible case of pink-eye and our vet recommended using this . Cleared it up nicely after using twice daily for a couple of weeks. Highly recommend using this for eye problems in animals .
A friend of mine recommended that I order this eye medication due to having a kitten with gunky eyes. His eyes started clearing up the next day which is really awesome. I can tell he feels more comfy
My elderly cat has a recurring case of conjunctivitis in one eye and this ointment is the best I've found for it. Very convenient to get it delivered instead of making a vet visit
