Terramycin is used in the treatment of infections such as conjunctivitis, inflamed cornea, pink eye, corneal ulcers and inflammation of the eyelids.
Terramycin is typically safe and serious side effects should not be expected, but some stinging can occur. Contact your veterinarian immediately if your cat has swelling of the face, itching, or appears to have difficulty breathing—these may be signs of an allergic reaction to Terramycin. Talk to your veterinarian about any other side effects that seem unusual or bothersome to your pet.
Before using Terramycin, tell your veterinarian if your pet is using other eye medications, as they could interact with Terramycin. Talk to your veterinarian or pharmacist before giving any additional prescription or over-the-counter medicines.
WARNING: Serious, life threatening, hypersensitivity (anaphylactic) reactions have been reported in some cats following application of antibiotic ophthalmic preparations. If your cat has swelling of the face, itching, appears weak, vomits, or has difficulty breathing within 4 hours of application you should discontinue treatment and contact your veterinarian immediately. Note: The use of oxytetracycline and other antibiotics may result in an overgrowth of resistant organisms such as Monilia, staphylococci, and other species of bacteria. If new infections due to nonsensitive bacteria or fungi appear during therapy, appropriate measures should be taken.

My cat was scratched in the eye by my other cat and it started watering and swelling. By the next morning the corner of his eye was super swollen and red and he kept pawing at it. I was super scared because I didnt have money for the vet AT ALL. I had heard that vets swear by this stuff so I took a chance and ordered it. It was amazing, it came the next day and I put it in his eye twice a day. At first I was using my finger to apply it but after 3 days twice a day it didnt seem to be helping so I started just holding his eye open and squeezing a half inch into his eye sideways so the ointment covered the surface of his eye. After 4 more days his eye was completely clear but I continued for a total of 11 days to make sure the infection was gone. Once his eye looked clear I was only doing it before bed because he would just go to sleep and not try to clean it. Also warm compresses with a paper towel before applying it helped a lot!! Picture below of what his eye looked like. It was much worse up close and it is completely cleared and gone now
I noticed one day my cat squinting and losing hair around his eye. As I researched his symptoms I learned he most likely had feline pink eye. I called around to vets in my area and none were taking new patients. I found this medicine and decided to try it out. After a few days of applying it to the eye area the infection cleared up and went away!
This medicine saved my outside cats eye and her life. I wasn't so blessed with a previous kitten who I didn't know his medicine existed to help her and the infection went to her brain. It was horrible. So grateful to have been told about this med so I was able to get it from Chewy to safe mama kitties eye and life. Thanks!
I purchased this after my 11 year old pup Diesel. His prescription eye drops had ran out. I read many reviews some were bad complaints about the size. But I went and purchased it and it worked wonders! I will definitely buy it again. I saw quick difference my only suggestion is to put the drops in at night. My doy showed sensitivity to light! Other than that it works!
One dose and my German Shepherds eye was much better. I highly recommend trying this broad spectrum antibiotic if your dog is experiencing eye issues.
My pup had an eye infection that came out of nowhere, we live in the desert and there is a lot of blowing dust around. Our normal vet could not get her in for a WEEK and there was no way I was letting her suffer through goop coming out of one eye and risking it jumping over to the other since I had no idea what it was. After doing some research online, and rave reviews about Terramycin, I jumped on Chewy to get some. Within two days her eye infection had cleared up completely. The investment in the ointment actually saved a nice chunk of change at the vet who later told me he would have just prescribed her something along these lines anyway. I love having access to OTC type pet medications that allow you to triage things the way you do humans before 'heading to urgent care' so to speak!
I got this for my cat, he had cherry eye and this took care of it, but he does still need to see a vet as there is still and issue. The rescue I work with also uses this a lot, we get many kitties with goopy eyes when they come in and this always clears it up. Worth trying first if your cat is having mild issues.
This took care of a nasty eye infection my dog had. I put the cream around his eye twice daily for a week and the infection was gone!
I have used terramycin for quite some time and was so happy to find it available through your web site. My cat had injured his eye fighting and the terramycin has done perfectly for him. Thank you!
This ointment simply cured my Lily's eye infection in less than 2 days. I am so glad it is available without a prescription since my area vets are booked for months!!
