Does this filter come already assembled and ready to insert in filter?
Answer by Chewy • Aug 01, 2019
These filters come unassembled.

What are the dimensions
Answer by Chewy • Apr 26, 2019
The small BIO-bag measures 3.8 inches long x 2.1 inches wide, the medium BIO-bag measures 5.2 inches long by 3 inches wide, and the large BIO-bag measures 6.4 inches long by 4.6 inches wide.

Can you use more than one in a 50 gal tank?
Answer by Chewy • Jun 30, 2022
More than one filter can be used in a 50 gallon tank. Tetra recommends using a filter system at each end of larger tanks. As long as the water does not backflow around the intake tube, the customer can also add a second bag or other media to the filter.

Does this come with the green plastic cartridge? We have the other style without the spot for the tablet, which cannot be used for this.
Answer by Chewy • Jun 11, 2021
This product includes the frame.

Great bags but

The sudsy clean tablet killed my fish. I always buy these without the tablet and they really are great. I left my filter on my tank running because I plan on getting more fish and it's creating bubbles so I know it was the tablet. Good idea but it'll kill your fish. Get filter without tablet insert!

Great filter

After eight years my old Tetra filter died and I just purchased a new one that utilizes the bio-bag cartridges. They work very well!

Nice alternative

Nothing wrong with product but came in a cardboard box without any instructions. Looked like it was packed by a 2year old. Pieces just thrown in.

Easy to use and trap a lot of guck

These filters are very easy to assemble and I found them to be very effective at trapping a lot of my aquarium's waste. If you have an aquariums with a lot of fish and cloudy water, I recommend rinsing off the surface of the filters every 2-3 days for optimal performance.

Price Difference

I have 2 systems that use this filter, it's pricey because of the little tablet you put in the middle, "Stay Clean Technology" my butt, not only do you have to assemble it but it is no different then the bio filter w/o it. It It should be cheaper since we have to assemble it, like anything else we by. Save your money and buy the bulk pack w/o stay clean technology, it works the same, tablet is just a buffer which you already have in some chemicals you add or Aquarium Salt, pillow softeners are cheaper and work great and last longer.
