It's not recommended to use in ponds with invertebrates or crustaceans.

This water treatment is formulated specifically for ponds. It is safe for all freshwater inhabitants but darkens the water while the barley works on the algae. Tetra has not done any research on its use in aquariums.

I have dogs that like to play in the pond will it be safe for them

This is an all natural product and is safe for dogs. Please keep in mind that drinking from ponds can give dogs upset tummies, as ponds often carry bacteria and protozoa.

I tried this Tetra Pond Barley & Peat Extract because it was "natural", but it only worked for about 2 weeks. My fountain evaporates about 1 gallon daily, so I even tried adding more product every other day. It could not keep up, and eventually the fountain water turned green. Very disappointed!

I had always had trouble keeping my tank clear and algie free. My brother told me to get Simply Clear with Barley. The product I was using was discontinued and I couldn't find anything to replace it. My tank was getting algie bad. I talked to a Chewy customer service rep and she went way beyond the call of duty to search and find this Liquid Barley to replace what I had. I can't imagine not having this. It actually works and I can now leave the light on all day and enjoy the tank now. Thank you Chewy so much.
