      Is this waterfall filter a “stand alone” filtration system? I have a 25 gallon whiskey barrel container pond and my aqueous 30 filter bit the dust. I need filtration/aeration for this size pond. Will this alone work for me? Thx!

      This filter is large enough to suit ponds and water gardens up to 1,000 gallons.

      This unit can be placed on any flat surface. The intake for this filter is located in the back.

      Deciding on a pump depends in part on the size of the pond. You can choose from 500 to 4500 gph to use with this filter. We recommend the Tetra Pond Water Garden Pumps and Debris Handling Pumps.

      Great product!

      I absolutely love this filter! It was larger than I envisioned but works like a charm. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the paper labels are terrible to try

      Wrong Fittings in the Box

      This is pricey for what it is: it's not quite as heavy duty as I expected even though I generally like the design, and the bulkhead fittings included are NOT THE

      This is pricey for what it is: it's not quite as heavy duty as I expected even though I generally like the design, and the bulkhead fittings included are NOT THE RIGHT SIZE. It says on the box that the barbed hose connectors are for 1" or 1 1/4" ID pond tubing, but they're not! (I measured them with a ruler as well.) They are too small for either size tubing. I had no problem hooking up my 1 1/4" pond tubing to the Tetra brand pump because of the 'cut to correct size' adapter, but the larger sized bulkhead fitting in this box does NOT fit that. It's about 1/8" too small. Ridiculously frustrating, poor quality control.

      Water is falling into our pond.

      Finally got it hooked up today. So far, so good. Toughest challenge was finding a spot for it without having to move any of the large stones that ring our pond

      Better than expected

      It was hard to visualize the size of this waterfall in proportion to my small pond, so it turned out large, and looks terrific. It is sturdy, and works very good

      It was hard to visualize the size of this waterfall in proportion to my small pond, so it turned out large, and looks terrific. It is sturdy, and works very good too. I did decide to add fine pond filtering material as well, as my area is somewhat dusty. The pond now looks better than it ever has, and I'm real pleased. Oh yes, they recommended I add ceramic clarifier, to put in the black mesh bag, and it really was needed to hold down the filter material that wanted to float up when the pump is on. No big deal to add the ceramics as they are inexpensive, and sold by the pound. Based on pump pressure, I needed four pounds to keep the filters down. The filters are easy to clean too, just wash out the filter material with dish soap and rinse well. Leafs and large stuff are caught with the stiffer pre-filter that comes with the unit, and it too, cleans up well. The inlet hole is 1 inch, so you can use the fittings that come with it, or use your own, if you have an existing 1 inch setup.
