great for smaller fish
By dawnith on Sep 30, 2019
my smaller fish love these granules, but my bottom feeders and the larger fish seem to skip out on this type of food. That's okay, the smaller guys will eat this up! I have other foods for the larger fish in my tank! To each his own!

TetraMin-imum

These granules do NOT work with my Cardinal Tetras! They sink so fast that even if they go right through the middle of the school, almost none find a mouth! Virtually every one of my 17 Cardinals spit the pellets out, so they have a problem with it too! The pieces are like little rocks, even in MY fingers. The food only has to drop 15" to the bottom, so I really have to time it, not unlike leading a bird you intend to shoot. I'll stick with my go-to brand of food and my special formula mixture. This food is headed for the garbage.

Pretty Good Stuff, But...
By TheRatDragon on Jul 20, 2018 Top 50 Contributor
The ingredients in these TetraMin Tropical Granules are pretty good (besides the terrible Corn Gluten), but unfortunately my Guppies, Platies, Mollies, Skirt Tetras, Neon Tetras, and Tiger Barbs do not approve at all. They prefer their healthier option, either Omega One or New Life Spectrum.

Sinking food
By Bama on Apr 2, 2018
I have a 55 gallon tank full of tropical fish who always want to eat. My catfish and placo love these sinking granules because my other fish do not allow the flakes to make it to the bottom of the tank. I love to see how excited my catfish gets when he/she smells this food hitting the bottom.

My betta, platys and swordtails enjoy them very much! They sink kinda fast but my fish swim to the bottom and eat them.

Maybe my fishies are spoiled??
By WYOcanine on Dec 24, 2017
I purchased this for my community tetra tank. Congos, lemons, blues, glowlight, embers, and neons. Not a darn one would eat this. They're all used to dry foods, it's what I primarily feed. But these granules were spit back out by everyone, even after soaking them in warm water and then offering. These granules sunk very quickly as well. I won't repurchase and I'll probably end up tossing this container.
