Can your pup lay down on the seat? Or do they sit up the entire time.

The dog will be able to lie down on the seat with the Thule Cappy on. Once secured, the harness allows your dog to move, sleep, and stay comfortable throughout the trip.

Unlike tethers or extenders, this harness keeps your dog close to the seatbelt, preventing any forward movement that could potentially harm others in case of an accident. It is possible for the adjustable straps to loosen over time, so it is recommended to check them periodically.

Not bad but also not good enough

The chest part, which I believe is the part that offers most protection, does not cover a good amount of area and can easily be moved around with dog's motion. Plus,

The chest part, which I believe is the part that offers most protection, does not cover a good amount of area and can easily be moved around with dog's motion. Plus, this harness has an open-back design, meaning it doesn't go over dog's neck to wear. It gave us a hard time because it requires my dog to stay still when I put it on, otherwise it falls. As my dog naturally only tolerates harness but never likes one, it's impossible to keep it as a daily gear. Returned.

I received this dog car harness to review. I highly recommend this harness for it's safety features as a car restraint as well as a great harness for walks,etc. It is very sturdy and well-made and padded nicely. It is very easy to adjust and to put on your dog. Both of my dogs seem to feel comfortable wearing it. My Doodle can escape from collars and some harnesses but this one fits him very securely. The materials used are of good quality and it is easy to secure to a seatbelt system in your vehicle and can also be hooked to a leash for walking. The price may seem a bit high but it is a quality harness and worth the cost to know that your pet will be securely restrained when riding in a vehicle and comfortable using it for walks and outings.

Great quality, doesn’t work

Took my dog 20 min to figure out how to get loose. Then 1 min every time after. It was as tight as I could get it on him without me feeling I was strangling him

Easy to use

I bought this for the primary function of buckling my pup into the backseat of my truck. It was very easy to put on and easy to clip in to the seatbelt. However,

I bought this for the primary function of buckling my pup into the backseat of my truck. It was very easy to put on and easy to clip in to the seatbelt. However, the actual harness itself is a little bit stiff, although it is high quality and heavy duty, so think it will last a long time. I am hoping it will break in. The large just fits my 70 pound German shepherd mix female with the straps completely loosened. My 65 pound Malinois mix has room to spare. They are different body shapes.

Safe, solid, breathable step in harness

This is the best car harness I have ever had, it is comfortable, breathable and they say crash tested. I hope we never test that! It has an area to clip a leash

This is the best car harness I have ever had, it is comfortable, breathable and they say crash tested. I hope we never test that! It has an area to clip a leash to walk your dog to the car. (And it also has a reflective element.) Once in the car, you run the seatbelt through the passthrough in the back of the harness so it keeps your pup in one place and safely buckled in. We have two dogs, one will be content sitting and looking out the window, the other one does not like the restraint so it will also be dependent on your dog. If you dog will be happy to sit, this is by far the best harness for the car with Thules commitment to safety and quality!

Very solid and trustworthy

Lots of good things about this harness - I trust its strength and quality. However, it's too stiff and that makes it hard to fit correctly and hard to buckle on

Lots of good things about this harness - I trust its strength and quality. However, it's too stiff and that makes it hard to fit correctly and hard to buckle on. It requires training for a dog that is used to having any free movement in the car. Our girl is anxious, and pacing is part of her "routine". This harness works very well to position the dog for safety (back position), but expect a learning curve. I'm not sure our girl can adapt to it, but we'll try!

Finally, A Harness That Fits

Before the Thule I tried EzyDog Drive and SleepyPod. Unfortunately neither one fit my dog correctly. The Drive harness even started to choke my dog when she laid

Before the Thule I tried EzyDog Drive and SleepyPod. Unfortunately neither one fit my dog correctly. The Drive harness even started to choke my dog when she laid down in the car. The Thule harness feels super strong and durable. It's not a lightweight harness by any means, but my dog loves it. The chest plate is a bit narrower than others, so it fits between her legs. The harness is also long enough to prevent it from rising up on her body when laying down. It's perfect for those super long, lean, and big chested dogs!
