Can you have this on your dog all day?

Most people say that their dogs and cats really enjoy wearing their ThunderShirts and they are safe to leave on for extended periods of time depending on the issue. But, please note! We recommend removing ThunderShirt every one to two hours the first few times to be sure everything is fitting correctly and your pet is happy. Irritation or other issues are very rare, but it’s always best to be cautious. AND, always remove the ThunderShirt at least twice a day if used for extended periods.

Our Bernadette suffers from periods of intense anxiety and after a few trips to the emergency vets and researching the symptoms with her regular veterinarian, we purchased this shirt and it has made such a difference. During these episodes, she pants rapidly, scurries under our feet, climbs above our heads on the couch, recliner and in bed and nothing we do helps to calm her down. This shirt does sort of makes her freeze, but it’s similiar to how she acts when we put a cold weather sweater on her. She lays down generally where we put on the shirt and gives into the calmness. It’s a miracle!! It is science based though, similar to swaddling a human baby. It brings her comfort. We pick her up and cuddle with her and she wears it for about 30-45 min to help ease her fears. We always have it with us on trips to our campground just in case something triggers her.

We'd bought a Thundershirt for our Aussie, Lego, who is terrified of thunder and fireworks - and it worked pretty well, but after only a few wearings we noticed

We'd bought a Thundershirt for our Aussie, Lego, who is terrified of thunder and fireworks - and it worked pretty well, but after only a few wearings we noticed that the edges of the Velcro strips were pulled loose in a few spots where the stitching had simply missed catching it. Called to see about a return and was offered a quick free replacement, no return necessary! Quick, easy, a pleasure to do business with, and the new one arrived in time for New Year's Eve fireworks. Yay!

Unfortunately it didn’t work

My poor boy is TERRIFIED of fireworks. I got a thunder coat for him and it didn’t do anything. He hides in the bathroom, pants, shakes and tries to wedge himself

My poor boy is TERRIFIED of fireworks. I got a thunder coat for him and it didn’t do anything. He hides in the bathroom, pants, shakes and tries to wedge himself between the wall and the toilet, which he doesn’t fit. For the past 2 years, I’ve spent NYE in the bathroom with him. I’ve tried everything too. Calming chews, thunder coats, even massage. My head massager seems to work the best. I wish there was something I could do!! It’s heartbreaking. My girl starts shaking because she sees him shaking. It’s so sad.

Field golden in her 4th year of life decided to become scared of thunder, she hides, paces, shakes and is generally super stressed to the point where I have to hold a towel over her head to get her to calm down, so I was willing to try the jacket. she definitely is calmer, however I think its the distraction of having it on to begin with thats the help. She still hangs out right next to me but the pacing and panting has stopped, but make sure to put it on them when there's not thunder, she gets a little anxious when she sees it coming out, and fights me a little to get it on, but once its on she's good. Worth a try for anyone looking for help with the anxiety and nervousness with storms.

My 90 lb rescue pit is terrified of loud noises after being rescued from a hurricane when she was a baby. I'm talking sits as close to me as possible, shaking, on garbage day because the truck outside is a little loud. Bought this for the 4th of July and I was SHOCKED at how much it calmed her down. Her shakes decreased significantly and she laid down after a few minutes with it on. Now, she gets her jacket every trash day and typically falls asleep within 30 minutes, even when the truck passes by outside! No amount of calming treats have ever helped like this jacket does. I just wish I had found this sooner for her!

She was a severely mistreated rescue probably used as a breeding dog She was removed by animal control in Florida for terrible neglect and probably exposed to thunderstorms

Worth it

I have a very high strung anxiety ridden dog, I didnt know she was like this when I got her, but I cant find anything that soothes it and finally I decided to bite

I have a very high strung anxiety ridden dog, I didnt know she was like this when I got her, but I cant find anything that soothes it and finally I decided to bite the bullet and buy the thundershirt for her while it was on sale and it has been a game changer. She doesnt wear it all the time but we put her in it when we are expecting company over or we're going for a drive. The times she gets the most anxious.
