Answer by ChewyMay 01, 2019
Both this supplement and the Tomlyn Nutri-Cal High-Calorie Dietary Cat Supplement have no differences. Both supplements have the same ingredients and functions for your pet.

hi will t huh s work for my dog who hasn't ate 2 days, he's very weak n I need something that can supplement his normal intake of food until he gets his appetite bck... he's 14 yrs old

Answer by ChewyJan 10, 2018
This Supplement provides supplemental caloric and nutritional intake and is high in protein and fat. Due to your pet possibly having a medical condition, we recommend consulting your Veterinarian to see what would be a good fit for your little one's current treatment plan.

on the dog supplements, how much is the per meal dosage for a 25lb dog. I like to know how long a 5oz tube for example would last

Answer by ChewyMay 14, 2018
When the animal's calorie or nutritional intake is to be supplemented, it is recommended to give 1.5 teaspoons per 10 pounds body weight daily. When used as the main source of nutrition give 3 teaspoons per 10 pounds body weight daily. The 4.25 ounce tube contains approximately 25.5 teaspoons.

And how often should it b used

Answer by ChewyAug 22, 2018
This product is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only.

High calorie gels are always helpful when dogs and cats are convalescing. Even if they eat normally, a little extra boost can be helpful. If they are off food, or not really eating what they should, I always recommend high calorie gels. There are options. My dog seems to like the various options I've tried with him so far. I'm pretty sure Tomlyn is a brand of high calorie gel that's been around for many years and both my cats and dogs have enjoyed it. Tomlyn is one that includes vitamins and minerals, where some don't. Definitely recommend for animal friends that need a little boost in calories.

She liked this

When I rescued her from the breeder, she was so skinny so I got this to give her a little boost for her appetite and so could pick up a little bit of weight

VERY resistable

None of my 10+ cats wanted anything to do with it. For the sick one I could sometimes get away with sneaking a small amount in Canned food but that doesn't work

None of my 10+ cats wanted anything to do with it. For the sick one I could sometimes get away with sneaking a small amount in Canned food but that doesn't work if she won't eat. Ended up mixing some into warm water and giving it by syringe. Might try the seafood flavor at some point.

Works Great!

My elderly grandkitty has Feline Herpes, and becomes dehydrated very quickly when his herpes flares. This helps him through those times so much!

Taste

My picky eater likes the taste and I also use it to hide her medication. It does help increase her appetite.

Breeder recommended

For small dogs, it really helps them with their diet to make sure they get their nutrition. She told me.

My 19 year old cat took a turn for the worse and refused to eat. The vet gave her medicine to improve her appetite but she absolutely refused it ain any way, shape or form. The Nutrostat gel she took. I was also able to dissolve it in warm water for her. It did improve her appetite and she started eating although still not her normal appetite but better than nothing. I would definitely recommend this product. It's especially helpful for animals who have lost their appetite due to illness.
