Super sturdy backpack

Giving 4 stars as our box arrived crushed and the plastic dome was broken. The backpack itself is made incredibly well. The material is heavy duty and wipeable

Giving 4 stars as our box arrived crushed and the plastic dome was broken. The backpack itself is made incredibly well. The material is heavy duty and wipeable. The shoulder straps have a nice cushion to them. Our cat Jojo weighs 14.9 pounds and she had plenty of room to be comfortable. We started out slow having the backpack on the floor for all three cats for smell and interact with for two days so they could get use to it before venturing outside. We took her on a walk around the block and she did so well. The pack was easy to put on and comfortable to wear. It was very breathable for our cat and she enjoyed the sunshine breeze. It’s definitely something we will use regularly to get her use to longer trips so she can go on hikes with the family.

This backpack is my first one trying to get my cat outside in a safe and controlled way. The dome in the photo is removable and comes with an optional screen that you can use instead, like if it's toasty and the kitty needs extra breathability. The back and sides are very sturdy with wide cushioned shoulder straps and a waist buckle. There's also a clip inside that you can attach to a harness your cat is wearing.

Roomy and sturdy!

I set out my TravelCat backpack on a table when it first arrived, Moonbean got slowly acclamated and started relaxing in it on a regular basis. We've since graduated to taking walks outdoors and short bike rides together - there's a clear dome attachment that let's her watch everything and it's tall enough that she can stand comfortably. There are generous storage pockets on the sides and an attached line and clip inside for extra security if we use a harness. I look forward to using this on a flight in the future, she has traveled with me before in-cabin but the standard rectangular carriers are more cramped (the bubble dome on the backpack can be switched to a flat ventilated plate, included, to accommodate the space under the seat.) Great product!

Travel Cat Fat Cat Airline Approved Bubble Backpack Cat Carrier is the perfect backpack for adventures with your furry friend. It easily fit my 11lb cat with plenty of room for him to move around in. It has the option to close the the top to keep the cat secure inside or to have it open with use of a harness so that they can peak out. Both options were successful however there was a little too much length to the securing leash when the top was open (making my cat think he could just do what he wants). It took a little bit of time to get my more timid cats used to the bag but I found leaving it out and letting them play/explore it was successful. I would definitely recommend this for more outgoing cats and cats you can trust not to break free.

Are you looking for a convenient yet fashionable way to travel with your pet?! Look no further than this backpack carrier. My cat probably weighs around 10 pounds or less and fits wonderfully. He really enjoys the bubble to get extra good views. And it is easy to train the cats to hop right in themselves with a little bit of treats. I am eager to use this during our next travels!

This backpack looks nice and is comfy to wear. I like that the shoulders and the back are padded for additional human comfort. The pockets on either side are large and can easily hold a collapsible food bowl, treats, and leashes. Unfortunately, the bubble portion tended to pop out easily and I worry about my cat’s safety. If the bubble could be secured in a better way (maybe with glue?) I love it.

I chose this cat travel bag because I have a cat as do my parents. I can use it to go to the vet and my parents are now using it on their camping trip with their cat. This one is unique compared to the usual travel crates because it can be carried on your back. It appears well-made and spacious. In fact, I was surprised about the size. Larger cats can definitely fit in here. I also appreciate having the plastic window and the screen-like window. My cat and my parents cat are fine in it, but I do wonder the safety and ability to stay on with a cat who is scared and trying to escape the bag. I also don’t think this can be used in any of the hotter months because it seems it can get stuffy inside, even with the breathable window. Improvement can be figuring out how to make the bag more breathable, and a way to ensure that the front window safely stays on even with a scared cat. However, I would not even attempt taking a scared cat out when to see if they get used to it since it probably is traumatizing. If you have a more easy going kitty, this bag is for you.

This bag is really well made. Its very sturdy & holds it shape well. My cat does not like being contained in the bag, but my pomeranian loves it. He doesnt enjoy walks, so this is perfect for him. My daughter has also put a bunny in it for small periods of time to go on walks with her. There is a different piece u can put on the front that is just a screen, but the dog prefers to put his head in the piece that pops out

If only...

The backpack arrived needing to be assembled. It came with a plastic bubble to replace the plastic mesh covering. After many tries, I could not detach the plastic

The backpack arrived needing to be assembled. It came with a plastic bubble to replace the plastic mesh covering. After many tries, I could not detach the plastic mesh covering. A friend stopped by to help and was successful yet neither one of us could figure how to attach the plastic bubble securely even after viewing several youtube tutorials. There was no mention in any of the instructions provided by TravelCat. My friend's husband could not get the plastic bubble to stay attached to the backpack either. The travel backpack is sturdy with padding on the back and shoulder straps. The pad provided for the inside was soft. The top access is not big enough for a large cat. My 15 lb. cat had a hard time trying to fit and get comfortable, it was too tight. We put my friend's slender but long cat in the backpack. She also had a hard time trying to get comfortable. The surrounding cutout inside for the bubble or original plastic mesh has sharp edges causing concerned that my cat could get injured when pressed against it. I tried walking around my house with my cat inside the backpack and the bubble would pop off. I replaced it with the original mesh so I could test the backpack. I am an average height person and it was not comfortable even after adjusting the straps several times. I tried wearing it in front but that did not work at all. There is an area to store water bottles and such. The problem is, if items are placed there, it blocks the air circulation and view for the cat. Walking with a backpack (especially if it is black) in the sun can get very hot even without any obstructions. I will not be using the backpack for reasons provided above.

This backpack is really good quality. I’m still getting my cats used to it, but my kitten went in and seemed perfectly content. It definitely doesn’t feel like a cheap bag at all. The zippers feel nice. You can choose between the plastic globe (that does have holes) on the front or a flat black piece that allows for more ventilation. Definitely recommend!
