The recent bag of elkhorns lacked serious quality. They splintered easily in numerous splinters while my dog was chewing them. Elkhorns should not splinter unless they were cured improperly and this batch absolutely was cured wrong!!!

*Maybe* I got a fluke bag, but these are NOT suitable for "large" dogs, even if your idea of "large" is just my 60lb pittie mix. Both of them are tines (the pointy end of the antler, just with the tip cut off), which are NEVER safe for big dogs no matter how long they're cut. They're very thin and very dense and way too easy for them to break a molar chewing on. They're only 1/2" and 3/4" diameter at the smaller end. I'll still give the product three stars because if they hadn't been tines, they clearly came off decent-size antlers, and the one is just BARELY thick enough that I might give it to my dog (only with full-time supervision). Do not buy these for more than maybe a 50lb dog. Certainly not for a power-chewer who would be tempted to chomp down on them. Not particularly recommended, even for half off.
