I received Hagen Tropican high performance formula sticks. These are in pellet form and it has mutilgrains and peanuts in it. Pellets are more nutrious then just bird seed. It contains more natural omega fatty acids, vitamins and minerals which help promote feather and muscle development. It has a resealable bag which is great! If I were a bird, this would have been my jam! It smells much better then some of those other pellets out there. My sun conure disagreed with me tho. She wouldnt touch it. I always give her a mix of seed and pellets. She would forage what she dumped out of her dish and unfortunately wouldnt touch these. I gave this one a fair shot but it could just be my picky girl.

I was excited to be able to offer a new food source, treat to my parrot. The first thing you notice is the smell. The product has a very strong scent of, I can only describe it as "paint". It is very off putting, however, I did feel that maybe I was just being sensitive to the smell. I offered a handful to my Yellow Napped Amazon and he ate two pieces. The size of the food is a great fit for his size, he very easily handled it. Since it was a new food to him, I left it in his bowl for a day, but he never ate anymore of it. The ingredients are impressive, but I couldn't get over the smell.

I received the Hagen Tropican High Performance Formula and gave it to my eclectus parrot. My parrot is an adult male, 9 years old. And I want to say up front that my bird is a VERY PICKY EATER so I wasn't shocked when he wouldn't eat this. I personally thought that the food looked and smelled very nice. As luck would have it, we are bird-sitting for a Caique and I gave him some and he LOVES it! So I'm sure that this product is tasty and well-liked by most birds unless they are, like my bird, super picky.

The Hair Tropical High Performance bird pellets were not liked by my Goffin cockatoo. I can't say it was because of flavor dislike because I did not witness her even trying them! She's been on fruit & seed diet for over 35 years so it may just be her stubbornness to try them. The ingredients looked great so I wish she would have liked them.

The food looks high quality and has a fruit smell. The bag is very sturdy. I will continue supplementing my parrot's food with these sticks as extra treats.
