When Fitz was adopted, I was told he was three years old. But the 10 chewed shoes and his sharp, pearly white teeth suggested he wasn’t yet a year. I was really motivated to do something I’ve never done before: try to protect my dog’s teeth. I tried the Tropiclean teeth gel because it seemed to be committed to natural/plant-based ingrediants. The package came with two rubber brushes, which Fitz did not cotton to, but I was able to apply the gel with my fingers as part of our bed-time routine. He likes the honey peanut butter taste and tolerates the new activity surprisingly well. I feel good knowing I’m taking care of him for the long haul.

I used this on our three Aussies who range in ages: 2, 5 and 8 years old. The younger two liked the taste of the paste and allowed me to brush their teeth. The older one, was not as big of a fan and unfortunately, he's the one that needs it the most. I liked the two types of brushes included with the set as it allows you to select the one that works best for your dog and of course one preferred the finger brush with the others being fine with the regular brush. I haven't noticed any difference in the tarter on their teeth but haven't used it for the 30 days recommended on the package. Time will tell.

Cleaner teeth in progress!

The toothpaste is a clear gel and definitely smells like peanut butter. It has a good consistency, not too thick or runny. It is easy to dispense what you want

The toothpaste is a clear gel and definitely smells like peanut butter. It has a good consistency, not too thick or runny. It is easy to dispense what you want on the brush without it being messy. Our dog seems to enjoy the flavor; she is very food motivated and there isn't much she doesn't like so that definitely provides an advantage. She is tolerant of us trying to brush her teeth and allows it, though not sure she enjoys it. The finger brush is easy to put on your finger and use in the dog's mouth. The jury is still out on how well it actually cleans the teeth, since we haven't used it very long yet. It says you can see cleaner teeth in 30 days or less, I am curious to see how well this works. That's the main reason for my 4 stars instead of 5, just need to see how well it works before I can give it the full 5 stars.

The bristles on the finger brush are soft and rubbery, which I thought my dog would enjoy, but he took great offense to me trying to brush his teeth. My dog enjoyed how the brisket toothpaste smelled and tasted, but when I tried to brush my dog’s teeth with it he objected greatly. I think this product would be great if your dog doesn’t mind having his teeth brushed. However, my dog is pretty picky about what goes in his mouth and he apparently has no interest in dental hygiene.

Needs better flavors!

Does this toothpaste do the job? Yes. Is the finger brush flimsy? Yes- I threw that in the trash. I brush my dogs teeth every couple days. They enjoy the peanut

Does this toothpaste do the job? Yes. Is the finger brush flimsy? Yes- I threw that in the trash. I brush my dogs teeth every couple days. They enjoy the peanut butter flavor. I do not like the smell. Perhaps something with mint or similar would improve their breath. I do like the dual end toothbrush- I can use the smaller end for incisors and the larger for the back molars

I could actually notice a difference when I was done and there was a little bit of tartar on the finger tool so I knew it was working. They seemed to enjoy the taste and didn’t seem stressed out at all!

I am sure this product does a very good job cleaning teeth for dogs who are amenable to it. Unfortunately, my dogs are not. They do not like me messing with their mouth, so it was very difficult for me to truly get a solid brushing. The product had a good consistency, and the brushes seemed to be very good. This is more of a neutral review since I do not feel I can adequately review the product since my dogs are so picky.
