I good solid ball and my dog loved the taste. It doesn't hold a lot of flavor so gets used up quick. Still, she liked it. Hard to use consistently because she didn't understand to return the ball for more flavor to be added and I didn't know where the ball ended up. It actually delayed this review quite a while. :) But, it did show up again and I got some pictures.

I was really excited to receive this product because I'm always looking for ways to improve the dental health of both of my small breed dogs. Unfortunately, I could not rouse their interest in this product at all. I thought the feature of having a squeaker would at least make them want to check it out, but no. I added the cleaning gel to the ball, following the instructions, but they wouldn't even sniff it. This would have been a perfect solution to help their dental health, and it was the perfect size for my dogs as well. I am disappointed at their lack of reaction, but I will keep trying. It is awesome that Chewy gave us the opportunity to try this new product. Maybe other dog owners will have better luck.

The Kong dental ball was fun as a ball but mildly disappointing as a dental toy. The ball itself bounces well, and was liked by my dog. He would chase it like any other toy, but the short coming fell at the spot where you inserted the gel. The hole is small and holds a trivial amount of gel that is easily wiped away the second the ball touches anything. The surface area of the dental gel holder is maybe that of a dime. So they have to essentially gnaw and chew for a long time for their teeth to actually hit the dental gel. Now what we did enjoy was the gel itself. The dog really enjoyed the taste of the gel. I found more success just putting a dollop on my finger and brushing a bit into their mouth. However if I’m doing that, I may as well brush their teeth. So in my opinion, while the ball was a great toy, and the gel was a great dental paste, the two together as a dental toy fell short.

This is a great way to give your furry family member dental gel. Bella is a 6 year old Cocker Jack, and is quite a chewer. So, we have limited the amount of time she has access to the ball. The ball is made tough, is easy to insert the gel, and is loved by our Bella. She reminds us when it's time for her "dental ball," prances around like a puppy, and doesn't want to give it up when time is up. We restrict her time as the clear plastic area that holds the gel is less durable than the rest of the ball and I'm afraid she will destroy that part. Thus the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Fun way to freshen your dogs breath

I got the size small for my miniature cocker because she has the worst breath, however she was not at all interested in the ball or the gel. The big dogs loved it

I got the size small for my miniature cocker because she has the worst breath, however she was not at all interested in the ball or the gel. The big dogs loved it and fought over the ball for a day until they broke it. If you dog really likes balls, this product is a good way to freshen their breath just be sure to buy one that is large enough. The gel is easy to use and they liked the flavor.

Great concept and design, my dogs just didn’t take to it. However they LOVED the taste of the gel and would lick it for days. It’s amazing that within 15 mins of application it starts working against 14 common bacteria! So comforting to have added coverage because our dogs sneak in baby kisses all the time! Added points for being BPA and Phthalates and animal cruelty FREE!

He still chews on it when he sees it on the floor. It was easy to add the gel, so maybe this ball is best suited for younger dogs. It might be great for puppies.
