  • It’s good, depending on what your dog likes.

I’m not entirely sure, I bought this set at PetSmart but used Chewy to have them price match because they wanted $17.50 for it in store. I was NOT paying that price, but I’ve always been one to brush my dogs teeth. I have a Jack Russell shorty pup, who’s eight weeks and three days. I know it’s important to start young with oral hygiene, just as it is for humans. My qualm is, Kaven doesn’t seem to like the taste or the smell. I think it maybe too strong for him, I used less than a pea sized amount to let him get used to the flavor. He took one sniff, snorted and shook his head. I put a smidegon on his teeth and he wasn’t impressed with the flavor. I used peanut butter flavor for my angel baby, I’m not entirely sure, I bought this set at PetSmart but used Chewy to have them price match because they wanted $17.50 for it in store. I put a smidegon on his teeth and he wasn’t impressed with the flavor. I used peanut butter flavor for my angel baby, who was almost thirteen when he gained his wings. He loved the peanut butter flavor, so I may have to try a different flavor for baby Kaven. I won’t give a bad review, just because Kaven didn’t like it. He’s his own boy, and he’ll learn his own flavors and taste preferences. I love the smell of the gel, not too strong to the human nose and I imagine a lot of dogs would love that flavor. I may let him sniff and try again later, but as of now he’s not a fan. I like the handled brush, simply because it allows you to get all angles of the teeth; sadly the dogs will bite down on the brush preventing you from moving it. Since he’s a teething pup, he’ll chew on anything he can find. I do recommend this because lots of other reviews say their pups like them, but with most anything not everyone will enjoy the flavors. Just have to find what they like, if the second try doesn’t go over as well I’ll find another flavor and see how that goes. All in all though, I do like this product, it’s not TropiClean’s fault that he doesn’t seem to like it. I see too many people leaving negative reviews on products, just because their dogs didn’t like it. It’s not the companies fault, it’s no ones fault they’re just like humans. They like what they like, they have their preferences and you’ll learn them fast. Kaven isn’t as picky as my angel baby was, but apparently minty stuff is gonna be his kryptonite. … more

  • finger brush is just too hard

    By on

the small finger brush doesn't have soft flexible bristles - more like hard rubber nubs. they don't get between teeth. If you're going to all the trouble of brushing your dog's teeth, you need to use an effective tool that actually does the job. This doesn't. Save your money and buy silicon finger brushes or a baby's tooth brush instead.

My pups love the flavor, and for me it's less stressful at brushing their teeth time. We enjoy that time of day and for once i can actually brush their teeth on a dialy basis.

  • Nice tooth brush

It should work well, but it is a little too big for my dogs' mouths. I bought the small one and it is too cumbersome for my dogs' mouths, they weigh about 15 lb ea. It's a neat concept, but it is also hard to line the brush, such that it tracks with the teeth, to clean properly. I think it would work better with bigger dogs.

  • My dog actually shook his head no

    By on

Both my dogs hate the taste. One shook his head no after letting me try it on him. Then he started foaming at the mouth. The brush is also hard to use. Waste of money.

  • Not worth it

    By on

I brush my dogs' teeth every day. I typically use a regular tooth brush, I don't like the finger brushes. I wanted to try this for the tooth brush with three cleaning sides... It is terrible. My dogs hate it and it really doesn't work with their teeth. I wouldn't purchase this again. I wish I didn't open it so I could return it. The concept of the brush was good, but the functionality is not there.

  • The best for the buck!

I run a rescue organization and every new dog we place gets a goodie bag! This is the best dental kit I have found and one goes in every goodie bag. The new adopters love it!

  • Easy to use and works for bad breath.

It works well for my golden retriever. He doesn't have awful breath to begin with but it's not great either. I let him chew on a buffalo horn to get the film and plaque off and then brush his teeth to polish them. According to the vet, he has great teeth and doesn't see a need to professionally clean them for another 2 years or so. I'm happy with it.
