I ordered this fly sheet since the one I had with a tail cover was rubbing my horses tail at the top. Unfortunately, while there was no issue with his tail (as it has no cover), it rubbed his hair off in four places. Both front shoulders and where the leg straps go through on the inside of his back legs. One leg strap rubbed so much it was a sore, not just hair removal. He wore the other fly sheet with the same straps with no issues of rubbing or bother (other than the tail area) for over a month. Unfortunately, I am out of luck for this fly sheet. I would not recommend this product.
My mare got a Florida sore from all the flies. It was on her butt and it just would not get better. My friend suggested this and I was sure she wouldn't like it. Her sore is almost healed and she loves it. She loves it so much, that I am getting her another one so I can take one home to wash, while she keeps one on. Oh, and its not hot at all! I live in Miami.
These are great! Light weight. Elastic rear leg straps. Front velcro strap between 2 front straps, keeps them securely in place. My boys love them, me too!!
A little small. It was nice for the price but in the end, I decided it was too hot for her to wear anything else, even a fly sheet.
So far loving this fly sheet! My mare doesn't get too hot in the florida sun wearing this. Price is great too!
Sheet fits nicely on my large GRP pony mare. Has been in use for almost 2 weeks with no snags or tears. Pink color is adorable. If it had a tail cover it would be perfect!
It looked nice but the horse tore a hole in it day one. Next one will be a little tougher
I love Chewy! This sheet was very fragile and was destroyed in 2 weeks.. not a turn out for sure..
I got a 78 inch for my Standardbred. The middle straps were too long even after adjusting them. I ended up twisting them to shorten them to a fist length from her belly. Otherwise I am happy with this product.
This is the best economy fly sheet I've had so far. It features a double buckle front closure to ensure proper fit and has a front Velcro closure (between the top and bottom buckles) to ensure the sheet stays on. The two strap surcingle closure is standard and has plenty of adjustability. This sheet comes with leg straps, which I love!! Although I will say they seem short as I had to adjust them to full length to fit. I purchased the teal color which is gorgeous on my palomino and the 78" is true to size. The material is light weight, but I cannot comment on breathability during the summer as I've only used it during the winter. (My boy must have one on 24/7 right not due to an abscess on his back.) Seeing as he has worn it 24/7 for over a month and I wash it every other day, the material has held up well. The only thing I have to say is save the extra Velcro piece that comes with the new product and put it over the "teeth" part of the Velcro on the front when washing/drying. I forgot to do this the last time I washed the blanket and the Velcro caught the fabric and caused fraying across the material. Before this, the blanket looked brand new after wearing and washing. The fraying has not affected it's use though, so no big deal. I will purchase this same blanket again.
