Very thin and the lining is not quilted or absorbent

I received this as a gift and tried it the other day on a 30-degree trail ride. I put another contoured thick pad over it because it was so thin. The underside is

I received this as a gift and tried it the other day on a 30-degree trail ride. I put another contoured thick pad over it because it was so thin. The underside is some kind of cheap, synthetic material that is not absorbent at all. I don't think it would be ideal for hot weather at all, given how it didn't absorb sweat on the cold ride. The pockets seem useful, but it's disappointing overall.
