Do not attempt to open the leash casing, as there is a loaded coil spring inside which could be hazardous.

My new leash

Usually this is a good brand to get. I wonder if I got the bad apple in the bushel... It was a very nice leash for a few days. I'm stronger than my mom thinks. It broke on her when I tugged too hard. Mom had to order another

Retractable lease

Be cautious about purchasing this item. I bought the tug retractable lease for my 62 pound dog and it snapped and no longer retracted. Ended up tossing in the trash.

Not impressed

I love that ghost leash cones with a short extension for pups that like to chew/carry their own leash. After just less than 2 months of use, and very, very minimal signs of wear, the main leash snapped and then retracted into the handle. I don't see any means of opening the handle without cracking it open. I wouldn't buy it again.

Poor retraction

The tape does not retract properly and as a result is too lax when attempting to redirect my dog. I have to manually readjust the tape to get it to retract. This is my second leash. The first one the tape frayed.

Do not recommend this leash

We have had this leash for 3 months. It's not a good leash. The tape is very thin so it's already ripping (and the bite extender that came with it really isn't usable because the clasp is so heavy). The tape does not go back inside the handle like it should, it gets twisted and caught. It also smells terrible from getting wet and rolling back in. I am already having to order a new leash today after only 3 months.

Lasted a while

I bought this leash in May 2020 and am just getting around to replacing it. The lock button and the retraction mechanism have been a little spotty for a while, likely due to my 60-lb dog's affinity for pulling. Not sure how long these are supposed to last but a couple of years seems reasonable.

Bought 4, 3 broke within two weeks of use.

I bought 4 of these because they do feel good. My 1 year old Golden broke three of them within a week of use. the cable broke at the leash clip. In fairness I still have the one I bought last year for my St Bernard. Be careful here though they are unreliable.

Smooth operation

We just started using this and so far, so good. The TUG's operation is very smooth and the handle is easy to hold, even with thick gloves on. We use it with a PetSafe No Pull Dog Harness which clips in front - no problem. The leash also came with an extra extender piece for dogs that tend to chew. What a nice surprise!

Is this a leash for ants??!

Great design and colors but the handle is a bit tight for us normal size humans. Got the small for a 14 lb chonky maltipoo but the handle is a bit tight. Just cause the pupp is small doesn't mean our hands are small..!! Also, when fully expanded and pupp come running back to me, the leash clumps up and doesn't retract back into the case.. This was to replace a cheaper Boots & Barkley retractable With reflective tape. The black tape on this could be hazardous during late night walks.

So Disapointed

Flexi was the brand I bought it the past. And It was great. I have had to fix them in the past because sometimes the dog would chew the leash (my fault). Last time I was unable to fix it so I ordered the TUG. It was cheaper and has good reviews. I was so excited when it came with an extra attachable length of leash for chewers! But somehow the extra piece went missing. And the pup chewed through the main nylon cord before we could catch it. So bummed. I looked on line to see how to open the TUG so I could fix it. Unfortunately the TUG cannot be opened. "They are permanently sealed to prevent opening because the coil retraction spring could be hazardous." So I will not be ordering this brand again.
